The middle school students have just entered adolescence,and they are in the transitional period from childhood to adulthood.At this stage,many students have unstable emotions,and are more plagued by emotional problems,which in turn have a negative impact on their learning and life.Faced with this problem,improving students' emotional regulation ability has gradually become a topic of concern for modern educators.Good emotional regulation ability has a great impact on the growth and development of puberty and even life.However,there are few studies on the emotional regulation ability of the students of middle school in China and fewer interventions studies on this problem.In addition,the mental health course has become a compulsory course for middle school education.Using the mental health course to carry out targeted subject psychological class interventions can directly use relevant psychological education methods and means to cultivate students' good psychological quality.Therefore,this study explored the status of the emotional regulation ability of the students of middle school,developed a intervention program to improve the emotional regulation ability of the students,and conducted an experimental group before and after the intervention,thus verifying our intervention program has a positive effect to improve the middle school students' emotional regulation ability.Specifically,this study includes three sub-studies: Study 1 takes 463 first-year students from a middle school in Jinan as the research object,and investigates the development status of the students' emotional regulation ability.On the basis of Study1,the main content of Study 2 is to develop a thematic psychology class interventionprogram that improves the emotional regulation ability of the middle school students.Study 3 is an assessment of the implementation of interventions and the effectiveness of interventions.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:1.The middle school students' emotional regulation ability is at the lower-middle level;students with different genders and only-children have no significant differences in their emotional regulation ability.2.The intervention program for emotional regulation ability of middle school students based on the thematic psychology class was developed,and the intervention course design was conducted with emotional perception ability,emotional evaluation ability,effective application of emotional adjustment strategy,emotional regulation self-efficacy,emotional control ability and emotional reflection ability.3.The research and development of the thematic psychology class intervention program can significantly improve the emotional regulation ability of the experimental class students,and students give positive comments on the effect of the intervention.The intervention program in this study can be directly applied to the guidance and intervention of the middle school students' emotional regulation ability,which has important practical significance for promoting effective emotional regulation of students.
