With the promulgation of the general high school geography curriculum standard(2017 edition),the middle school geography classroom teaching pays more attention to cultivating students’ geography ability and geographical core literacy,and pays attention to the overall development of students.However,the current middle school regional geography teaching still has the traditional one-way infusion teaching status,the cultivation of knowledge and light ability,the lack of vitality in the classroom,and the low interest of students.Therefore,it is particularly important to change the traditional classroom teaching mode,change the students’ learning style and thinking mode,create an open classroom with teacher-student interaction,improve the quality and efficiency of regional geography classroom teaching,and promote the cultivation of students’ core cultural literacy.On the basis of reviewing a large number of related literatures on topic-based teaching,this paper combines high school regional geography teaching materials,using literature data method,questionnaire survey method,statistical analysis method,educational practice method and interview method to implement high school regional geography theme teaching.Necessity,thematic teaching case design principles and design processes are studied,and case teaching practices are carried out.Firstly,the literature research method is used to sort out the research background of geography theme teaching in high school and the research status at home and abroad,and to clarify the related concepts of high school regional geography theme teaching.Secondly,through the questionnaire survey method and statistical analysis method,the current classroom teaching status of high school regional geography is investigated,and the classroom atmosphere is relatively dull,the teacher-student interaction is not high;the classroom teaching method is single,the students lack interest;the students expect teachers to guide and cooperate Investigate several aspects of the problem,and analyze the necessity of geography-themed teaching in high school areas in combination with the examination requirements of the national college entrance examination comprehensive comprehensive geography test.Using the literature data method again,with reference to the predecessor’s thematic teaching research results,the high school regional geography thematic teaching design principles and design process are proposed,and the teaching of the two regions ofNorthwest China and Qinghai-Tibet Area is designed according to the design principles and design process.design.Finally,using the educational practice method to carry out the teaching practice of thematic teaching,through the comparison of pre- and post-test results,teacher interviews and student evaluation,etc.,it is found that the effect of applying the thematic teaching mode in the high school regional geography classroom teaching is obviously better than the traditional one.Teaching and thematic teaching mode improve the regional geography classroom teaching,activate the classroom atmosphere,stimulate students’ interest in learning,promote the interaction between teachers and students,enhance students’ ability to analyze and solve geographical problems,and cultivate students’ core cultural literacy.Promote the growth of teachers’ professionalism and abilities.
