All countries in the world have begun to pay attention to the cultivation of talents while carrying out competitions in the military,economics,and science and technology.China is facing new challenges.China has proposed a talent strategy to adapt to the global economic development situation and to better respond to international challenges.Under this circumstance,Chinese education perspective changes a lot requiring acltivation of all-round development talents.The new round of curriculum reform has been completed and is being implemented gradually.The new curriculum reform requires that each student should be based on the individual development of the students.The traditional geography teaching classroom is incompatible with the clemands of student quality.The thematic teaching can give full play to the initiative of students and help improve the overall quality of students.The combination of thematic teaching and geography classroom will provide new teaching ideas for geography teaching,so as to adapt to the new curriculum reform and promote the completion of students' learning goals through theme teaching.Thematic teaching focuses on the development of students' personality and focuses on the cultivation of students' overall quality.It is of great help with students' ability to practice,comprehensive thinking ability,and regional cognitive ability,as well as the cultivation of human-to-nature coordination.Therefore,the research on the application of thematic teaching in senior high school geography classroom has certain practical significance.In order to obtain relevant data to help the application of the thematic teaching in the senior high school geography class,this paper carrys out the survey under the support of the theories of humanism,constructivism,multiple intelligences,and cognitive learning theory by adopt questionnaires interviews and field observations,etc.teachers and students of conducted surveys are from Kaifeng High School,Kaifeng No.17 Middle School,Yu cheng High School,Shang qiu Huimin Middle School,Shang qiu Middle School,and teachers participating in the Geography “National Training” program at Henan University.In the survey conducted in the two months from October to December 2017,500 questionnaires were distributed to five schools,and 447 valid questionnaires were collected,with 89.4% efficiency;89 questionnaires were sent out and 73 questionnaires were returned with 82.02% efficency.According to the received information of observations,visits,etc,on the thematic teaching applied in the senior high school geography class,the analysis of data with the assistance of technical final that the use of thematic teaching in the senior high school geography classroom is facing the following obstacles: The students have less interaction with the teacher in classroom,the student's main status did not really reflect;2 The geography knowledge cannot be fully absorbed and applied by students,so geographic education cannot achieve the real educational purpose of its education.3 The study of thematic teaching at home and abroad is in a mature stage,and the application of thematic teaching in class is also ongoing.However The teacher-students' understanding of thematic teaching is not enough;4 teachers in the actual teaching process in order to attract the attention of students,and to improve students' interest in learning intentionally change the teaching methods,but under the pressure of teaching,lack courage to try new teaching methods.According to the problems found in the analysis of the status quo,the main causes of the obstacles are the following reasons: 1 Students' dominant position in the class is lacking;2 The geography knowledge is less related to the actual life;3 Society is less concerned about the update of the geography teaching mode.In light of the above research,the application of thematic teaching in the senior high school geography class must be further focused on the promotion of individual personality development under the guidance of curriculum theory.Improve ment of the students' main position in the clas,establish a sense of ownership and full use of students' enthusiasm and initiative in the class.Besides efforts will be made to build a more efficient and orderly geography classroom to complete the cultivation of students' comprehensive thinking ability,geographic practical ability,regional cognitive ability,and the purpose of enhancing human-to-nature coordination.Based on the relevant information obtained,this study analyzes the application situation of thematic teaching in the senior high school geography class.Fully grasp the obstacles of the thematic teaching,and propose the following strategies to solve the obstacles in the application according to the suggestions of the first-line geography teachers: 1 Establish the thematic teaching philosophy;2 Strengthen the training of Students' ability to adapt to thematic teaching;3 Determine the subject that meets actual needs;4 Establish mastery evaluation mechanism.The innovations in this paper: 1 enriched the application of the thematic teaching in senior high school geography teaching,and enrich the teaching methods of high school geography;2 through the field visit survey,according to the problems and causes and the teachers suggested that the topic teaching in high school Applied Strategies in Geography Class.This study proposes a topic-based geography teaching for geography teaching.Although it is aimed at senior high school geography teaching,it still contribute to the overall development of geography teaching.It is hoped that through this study,the education management department will increase the emphasis on geography teaching and integrate various teaching resources to promote the renewal of geography teaching mode.
