Background and purposeIn Chinese colleges and universities, suicide is the most serious type of public emergency, and it is also the number one cause of abnormal death of college students. In China, suicide has become the number one death factor in the 15-34 age group.Studies have confirmed that decision-making deficiencies increase adolescents'susceptibility to suicidal behavior. In the article"The psychology of-suicidal behavior"published by Lancet Psychiatry,Nock et al.mentioned that there is a significant decision-making impairment in patients with attempted suicide.Suicidal behavior, which is essentially a risk decision, can be regarded as a kind of decision made by the individual to obtain temporary relief and is extremely unfavorable to the individual.Suicide is an extreme example of risk decision-making.In order to prevent and formulate effective interventions at an early stage,it is particularly important to determine the risk decision characteristics of college students'suicidal behavior.Study 1 carried out a research on the relationship between college students'suicidal behavior and risk decision-making,aiming to explore the characteristics of college students'suicidal behavior, explore the relationship between risk decision-making and suicidal behavior, and explore the differences in risk-seeking tendencies among students with suicide ideation, students with suicide plan and students with suicide attempt, and explore the relationship between risk preference and overall suicide risk;Study 2 carried out the risk decision-making task research of suicidal college students, aiming to explore the differences in risk decision-making between suicide ideation group, suicide attempt group and healthy control group, and to explore the differences in the risk decision-making between suicidal college students with single-phase depression and bipolar disorder;to explore the relationship among risk decision-making in suicidal group and overall suicide risk, depression symptoms, anxiety symptoms, impulsive personality and aggressivity characteristics.Object and methodStudy 1 select undergraduate students from a medical university as the research subjects, and the Risk decision-making Tendency Questionnaire and the Suicidal Behavior Questionnaire-Revision were used to conduct a questionnaire survey.A total of 3001 students were investigated.,and finally 2529 valid questionnaires were retrieved.Study 2 selected 71 college students who had a history of suicidal behaviors from a medical university according to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, including 49 students with suicide ideation,22 students who had committed suicide attempts, among them, there are 37 college students who meet the diagnostic criteria for depression, and 13 college students who meet the diagnostic criteria for bipolar disorder, and 22 healthy control students who never have any suicidal behaviors, using the MINI-International Neuropsychiatric Interview,Hamilton Depression Scale,Hamilton Anxiety Scale,Young manic rating scale,Suicide Behavior Questionnaire-Revised Edition,Beck Depression Scale,Anxiety Self-Assessment Scale,Barratt Impulsiveness Scale,Buss&Perry Attack Questionnaire, and risk decision-making paradigm---Balloon Analogue Risk Task.Results1.Suicidal ideators, suicide planners, and suicide attempters did not show significant differences in the benefit situation RPI and the loss situation RPI.2.There was no significant correlation between the suicide risk and the benefit situation RPI.loss situation RPI and RPI.3.In order to obtain a higher game profit, the college students who have had suicidal behavior tend to constantly push the balloon to increase the number of air blowing, showing a high level of risk seeking tendency.4.On the negative feedback results, the suicide behavior group showed a weaker learning effect than the healthy control.5.Students with suicidal behavior who meet the diagnostic criteria for bipolar disorder exhibit a higher level of risk seeking than students with suicidal behavior who meet the diagnostic criteria for depression.6.The risk-seeking tendencies of college students who have had suicidal behaviors are significantly associated with unplanned impulsiveness, cognitive impulsiveness, and BIS total scores and their suicide risk, but there was no significant correlation with the depression symptoms and anxiety symptoms of the subjects.Conclusion1.The suicidal actor's ability to make decisions in a purely income or loss situation is intact.2.Suicidal students maintain a'“even priority for income"decision-making model and exhibit a high level of risk-seeking tendencies, which may be a predisposing factor for suicide behavior.3.Suicide attempters tend to repeat the previous failed decision-making model after negative feedback results, showing the shortcomings of feedback learning ability.4.Students with suicidal behaviors that meet the diagnostic criteria for bipolar disorder show a higher level of risk-seeking tendencies than those with single-phase depression.5.The risk-seeking tendency of suicide behavior is related to their impulsive traits.Innovative1.Compare the differences in risk decision characteristics between suicide ideators and suicide attempters.2.The differences in risk decision-making between suicidal students with single-phase depression and bipolar disorder were discussed.Further research ideas1.Future research can refine the group according to the recentness and lethality of suicide attempts2.Bipolar disorder can be subdivided into biphasic I and bipolar II,and the effects of these two types on risk decision making of suicidal behaviors can be discussed.
