With the continuous improvement of social demand for talents,STEM education aiming at cultivating innovative and compound talents is gradually popularizing in the world.Many countries have issued their own STEM education standards.The Science Curriculum Standards for Primary Schools promulgated in 2017 defines the concept of STEM,emphasizes interdisciplinary,project-based learning and problem solving,and suggests that science teachers carry out STEM teaching practice.How to develop from science teacher to qualified STEM teacher,that is,from single subject teaching to interdisciplinary teaching,is a difficult problem facing our country at present.Based on the requirements of the new curriculum standard and the background of STEM education reform worldwide,this study investigates the current conditions and problems of STEM teacher training in Fujian Province from three dimensions: the development of science curriculum,the status quo of STEM literacy of science teachers and the training of science teachers.Through questionnaires and interviews with Provincial Discipline leaders,we can understand the development of science curriculum,science teachers and STEM education research team in primary schools,and clearly put forward the necessity of scientific teachers' staffing and part-time teacher training.A questionnaire survey was conducted on the STEM literacy of front-line science teachers.The existing problems were understood from the aspects of teachers' STEM educational understanding,STEM disciplinary basis,STEM interdisciplinary understanding and practice.The suggestions that STEM teacher training should focus on the comprehensiveness of literacy were put forward.Selecting the documents and activity records of science teacher training in Fujian Province in the past five years and referring to the information of science teacher's subject background,it is found that the regional training forms are diverse and pertinent,but it can not meet the overall development of teachers' STEM literacy.The provincial training cycle is long and the training system is strong,but the implementation is difficult and the requirements for teachers are high.Compared with foreign countries,China still lacks a large number of qualified STEM teachers,and the formation of this dilemma is closely related to such factors as imperfect pre-service training,single after-service training form,neglect of science curriculum,lack of teachers and so on.In order to solve the problem of STEM teacher training,we should improve the pre-service training system,strengthen the University teachers,integrate University resources,strengthen the construction of STEM specialty,strengthen the construction of teachers,promote the development of STEM education research team,constantly improve the post-service training system,and pay attention to the comprehensiveness of teachers' STEM literacy.These suggestions have certain reference value for STEM teacher training and science curriculum development in China.
