Beginning with words,reading is an effective way to acquire knowledge.According to scientists,70% of the world's knowledge is still related to reading.For students,extracurricular reading combines leisure and learning,which can shape the spiritual world of students,embody the ideas of lifelong education and leisure education,and develop good extracurricular reading habits,which can not only assist students in classroom learning,but also Enable students to develop an independent learning ability.For rural boarding schools,extracurricular reading activities are a safe and beneficial activity in the form of closed management;for rural boarding school junior high school students,extracurricular reading is to cultivate interest,cultivate ideas,enrich life and gain knowledge.At the same time,rural boarding school students have the advantage of time,so extracurricular reading is necessary and feasible for rural boarding school students,and should be taken seriously.This study adopts the literature method,questionnaire method and interview method,and takes three rural boarding primary schools as the investigation points.It starts from the three dimensions of extracurricular reading subject,extracurricular reading process and extracurricular reading object,and investigates students' extracurricular reading.The analysis finds that there are some possibilities and necessity for the extracurricular reading of rural boarding school students,but there are some problems in the actual operation.From the perspective of extracurricular reading subjects,about half of the students have low interest in extracurricular reading and will read outside the classroom.Not a strong problem.From the perspective of reading objects,the extra-curricular reading materials are the main problem,which is manifested by the single source of extracurricular reading materials and the lack of diversified content.From the perspective of extracurricular reading process,the problem is realized as students have no fixed extracurricular reading time,total reading time.Less,and students' reading ability is not strong.Furthermore,the performance ofthese problems is deeply explored,and it is found that there are three main reasons.The corresponding subjects of extracurricular reading are insufficient understanding of extracurricular reading,and insufficient attention is paid.The extracurricular reading objects are less suitable for extracurricular reading,but corresponding to the extracurricular reading process.The reason is the lack of necessary guidance for students' extracurricular reading.Therefore,the corresponding improvement strategies are proposed from the three aspects of schools,teachers and students.It is hoped that this will promote the extracurricular reading of junior middle school students in rural boarding schools and enable rural boarding schools to develop better.I hope that through the research in this paper,the remote rural primary school students will have both books and reading books,so they will love reading and enjoy reading,so that the overall quality of students will continue to improve in reading.This paper conducts research in the form of papers,so it is only a preliminary study of the subject,but it is only a corner of the field of extracurricular reading teaching.The extracurricular reading teaching is profound and profound,and more educators will participate in the broad research field of extracurricular reading teaching in the future.
