For a long time, extracurricular reading Closely relates with the Chinese-language teaching.It is extends beneficially and supplemented of reading education in class。It's useful for students to improve their skills of chinese learning,and it will be beneficial in student's future development.However, in practical teaching, extracurricular reading is a serious stricken area in Chinese-language teaching. Guidance is often ignored by teachers. Students lack the time to read. It causes the low efficiency or invalid of students' reading.This stems from the heavy academic pressure of examination-oriented education, stems from the teachers' vision shortsighted and utility, also stems from the teachers' pursue of"wide,quantity,independent",and paying little attention to"fine,quality,guide".This article thinks that extracurricular reading should have broad sense and narrow sense. As an important part of Chinese-language teaching is the narrow sense of the extracurricular reading or Language Extracurricular Reading.The duty of the course is not to ask the students to read more only,but to train the students' ability of reading the whole book,and help them get practical expertence from the reading education in class.It causes the student to form a habit and read freely finally,and help students better read different kinds of articles and books in future. We can divide language extracurricular reading into two kinds of classes:guide reading and self reading.In this thesis, we widely investigated the present situation of extracurricular reading among the junior students in southern areas of Jiangsu province.The corresponding countermeasures is proposed to treat existing problems. In this thesis,it provided examples:stimulates students' reading interest through the building atmosphere,through provides the condition to guarantee students' reading behavior, strengthens reading through the point of view guidance the effect, sharpens students' reading knowledge through the line of conduct,helps students to read the whole book through the famous work guidance. It has designed cases provided for everybody.
