With the advancement of China's modernization process,strengthening citizenship education has become an inevitable requirement for social development,and it is also a realistic need to implement Socialist core values education and cultivate qualified socialist citizens.The civic consciousness education for middle school students is the basic project of civic awareness education in China.Cultivating middle school students to establish a civic awareness that is consistent with the core values of socialist has important theoretical and practical significance for shaping qualified socialist citizens,building a harmonious frontier,and building a socialist harmonious society.Based on the above background,this study takes the civic consciousness education in Xinjiang area as the research topic and takes the junior high school moral education curriculum as the research perspective.This study mainly adopts literature research method,the questionnaire survey method,the field survey method and the text analysis method.The thesis starts from the moral education courses,namely the morality and the rule of law course and the moral education activity,and conducts a more in-depth study on the current situation of civic awareness cultivation in the moral education curriculum and how to strengthen the citizen awareness through the moral education curriculum.In terms of subject curriculum,this study combines the status quo and problems of civic awareness cultivation in the junior high school “Moral and Rule of Law” in Xinjiang K area.On the basis of grasping the curriculum standards,this study analyzes the content of citizenship education embodied in the textbooks from five dimensions: national consciousness,responsibility consciousness,rights and obligation consciousness,participation consciousness,nationality.In terms of moral education activities,this study mainly surveys the five middle school students in the K area of Xinjiang as the survey object,and based on the five aspects of civic awareness training defined by the core concept of this article,it conducts a questionnaire survey on the status quo of students' civic awareness and the development of moral education activities.In addition,interviews were conducted with school teachers and leaders to identify the problems existing in the cultivation of citizenship awareness in the junior high school moral education activities in K area of Xinjiang.Through analysis,it is found that there are four main reason for the problem: the lack of systematic overall planning for civic awareness cultivation,the lack of complete citizenship awareness content system,the existence of realistic predicament in moral education activities,and the reasons for teachers and students themselves.Based on the above research and analysis,this study proposes countermeasures and suggestions for improving the civic consciousness of middle school students through moral education courses from four aspects: based on the socialist core values education,integrating civic awareness education into school moral education curriculum;it is necessary for teachers whom teaching of “Moral and Rule of Law” to form the concept of civic awareness education,change the concept of teaching,promotion the formation of good relations between teachers and students,and construct a scientific and effective evaluation mechanism of civic aw areness education;in the field of moral education activities,improve the status of civic awareness education in the curriculum of junior high school moral education activities,and build a sound moral education activity curriculum system,optimize the cultural environment in the school,make full use of community resources;improve the faculty of middle school students' civic awareness training.
