The Olympic movement is an international event that combining sports,culture and education.It contains and outstanding spiritual connotation that has important educational value and has a good ideological and educational role for the youth group.Based on the methods of literature,questionnaire,interview and statistics,this paper investigates the current situation of Olympic Education in Jiangsu Province,and explores the countermeasures to achieve Olympic education value in primary and secondary schools.The conclusions are as follows:(1)At present,there are almost no specialized Olympic education courses in ordinary primary and secondary schools in Jiangsu province.This shows that there is still a long way to go to integrate Olympic into primary and secondary school physical education.The lack of curriculum system,support for administrative policies and lack of Olympic education materials are considered as the main reasons for failing to set up Olympic education courses.(3)There is no effective way of Olympic Education in primary and secondary schools in Jiangsu Province,which leads to the lack of comprehensive understanding of Olympic knowledge and the Olympic spirit.(2)Physical education teachers in primary and middle schools in Jiangsu province are conscious of the role of Olympic education.However,in practice,there is still a lack of awareness of students’Olympic knowledge,which indicates that there is a lack of systematic Olympic education system.And the sports teachers’Olympic knowledge mainly comes from the Olympic education books,newspapers and magazines or television media.(4)There are relatively few Olympic knowledge in the middle and primary schools in Jiangsu province.And most teachers lack the opportunity for Olympic learning and rarely participate in the training of Olympic education.(5)In Jiangsu Province,students of the history of the Olympic movement and activities of the organization system of good in the knowledge of the current hot events of Olympic Games in the field of knowledge and more related to China’s Olympic Games,but on the Olympic sports knowledge than the lack of games do not pay enough attention.(6)In Jiangsu Province,students of the Olympic spirit of shallow understanding of the definition of the Olympic spirit is good,but the understanding is not comprehensive and profound,especially the Olympic spirit will extend to the outside of the sports field,the students on the understanding is very limited.However,most of the primary and secondary school students have more support for the opening of the Olympic education curriculum,indicating that they are interested in the knowledge and spirit of the Olympic Games.Through the analysis of the survey results,the main factors that influence the development of Olympic Education in primary and secondary schools of Jiangsu province are summarized,and corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward accordingly.
