A Study On The Relationship Among College Students' Online Risky Behavior,Cyber-Victimization And Depression

The current study proposed the dimension structure of college students' online risky behaviors referring to literature reviews and conducted interviews and semi-structured questionnaires.The "Scale of College Students' Online Risky Behaviors",complying with the optimal process of compiling scales,was developed for investigating the current situation and characteristics of college students' risky behaviors on the internet.We analyzed the relationship among online risky behaviors,Cyber-victimization and Depression on the basis of the "Scale of College Students' Online Risky Behaviors","Cyber Victimization Questionnaire" and "Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale".The conclusion was drawn as follows:(1)The "Scale of College Students'Online Risky Behaviors" contains 24 items that cover five dimensions:the risk of entertainment,the risk of social networking,the risk of contact,the risk of economic transaction and the risk of management.With reliability and validity,the scale is applicable for further research as a psychological measurement tool.(2)The analysis of the current situation of college students' online risky behaviors and demographic characteristics shows:The global level of college students' risky online behavior is lower than medium,the risk of social networking is the highest among all of the dimensions;The global level of college students' online risky behaviors varies significantly with such variables as gender,grade,major,and it is also relevant to the fact of whether or not being single-child,however,locations of students doesn't make significant influence.(3)There exists a positive correlation among five dimensions of college students'online risky behaviors,Cyber-victimization and Depression.It reveals that the college students' risky behaviors on the internet positively predicts Cyber-victimization and depression,besides,Cyber-victimization positively predicts depression,and Cyber-victimization plays an intermediary role in the influence of college students' online risky behaviors on depression.
