Objective:We carried out a cross-sectional study on the topic of mental health of college students in Jilin province,in order to understand the prevalence and distribution of suicidal ideation among college students in jilin province,explore the risk factors,improve the suicide intervention system for college students in jilin province,enhance the mental health of college students,thus we can effectively prevent suicide behavior.Methods:The data was from 2016 survey data of college students' mental health in jilin province conducted by research group.Stratified cluster sampling was used to conduct the questionnaire survey to investigate 15-25-year-old college students from 10 universities in jilin province.We used the self-made questionnaire on the mental health of college students in jilin province through the process.Epidata software was used to summarize the questionnaires by Parallel double entry,then the SPSS22.0 software was used to analyze the data.Chi-square was used to analyze the demographic characteristics of those with and without suicidal ideation and other relevant information.The influencing factors were analyzed by univariate and multivariate non-conditional Logistic regression.Results:1.The valid sample of this study was 6284 respondents with 576 suicidal ideators,and the prevalence of suicidal ideation was 9.2%.2.Suicide ideation was more common in men(10.1%)than in women(8.1%),the rate of suicidal ideation in the 20 years old group(11.0%)was higher than that in the 20 years old group(8.5%),the proportion of suicidal ideation in the institutions directly under the Ministry of Education was the highest(7.9%),the proportion of suicidal ideation among the respondents in the senior and above was the highest(13.3%);the proportion of suicidal ideation in the respondents with a living cost of ?3000 yuan/month was the highest(18.5%).3.The analysis of influencing factors showed that the junior year(OR=1.352,95% CI 1.041~1.755),senior and above(OR=1.584,95% CI 1.188~2.110);general family relationship(OR=1.665,95%CI 1.191~2.327);parents' frequent quarrels(OR=1.389,95%CI 1.022~1.889),parents' separation(OR=2.440,95% CI 1.382~4.308);general satisfaction with maternal love(OR=1.730,95% CI 1.249~2.396),dissatisfaction(OR=2.593,95% CI 1.597 ~4.211),quite a lot of dissatisfaction(OR=2.262,95% CI 1.457~3.512);having 2 friends(OR=1.378,95% CI 1.081~1.757),having 1 friend(OR=1.525,95%CI 1.035~2.246);and friends often going to the bars / KTVs / dance halls(OR = 1.675,95% CI 1.263~2.223),billiard halls(OR=1.899,95% CI 1.296~2.783);smoking(OR=2.296,95% CI 1.698~3.104);depression symptoms(OR=2.165,95%CI 1.791~ 2.617)were risk factors leading to suicidal ideation.Conclusion:1.The prevalence of suicidal ideation among college students in Jilin Province was 9.2%,which is at the lower-middle level nationwide.2.Among the respondents,the prevalence of male suicidal ideation was higher than that of females;the high age group was higher than the lower age group;the institutions directly under the Ministry of Education,the seniors and senior college students had the highest prevalence of suicidal ideation;the students with living expenses of ?3000 yuan/month had the highest proportion of suicidal ideation.3.Senior grades,general family relationships,dissatisfaction with maternal love,parents' quarrels or separation,only having 1 or 2 friends,frequent going to entertainment places with friends,smoking,and depression symptoms were all risk factors that influenced suicidal ideation among college students in Jilin Province.4.The factors influencing college students' suicidal ideation came from various aspects.Individuals,schools,families and society should make joint efforts for the intervention of college students' suicidal ideation.
