Objective: To explore the effects of exercise rehabilitation training on the alleviation of symptoms, functional recovery and muscle strength recovery of archers with subacromial impingement syndrome. Methods: Sixteen athletes with subacromial impingement syndrome trained at Fangshan Sports Training Base in Jiangsu Province were divided into two groups,8 in each group,i.e.physical therapy plus exercise rehabilitation training group(experimental group)and physical therapy group(control group). Two groups of athletes were treated with the following physical therapy: 1.Massage.2 Magneto-Vibratory Therapy.3.Ultrashort wave therapy. The experimental group also carried out rehabilitation training according to the motor rehabilitation plan of patients with subacromial impingement syndrome, including: 1.Loosening of shoulder joint on affected side.2.Shoulder pendulum exercise training.3.Stability of shoulder muscles and muscle strength training. Two groups of athletes were treated for 12 weeks, and the shoulder joint was evaluated before and 12 weeks after treatment. The evaluation included: using Constant-murley scoring table to evaluate shoulder joint function, using electronic goniometer to measure shoulder joint flexion, extension, abduction and rotation, and using Biodex-II isotachymeter to evaluate shoulder joint muscle strength in all directions. Results: 1.Before treatment, there was no significant difference in shoulder function, range of motion and muscle strength between the experimental group and the control group(P > 0.05).2.There were significant differences in the total score of functional improvement, flexion and abduction joint activity and muscle strength after 12 weeks of treatment in the experimental group(P< 0.05).3.There were significant differences in the degree of functional improvement, joint mobility and muscle strength between the control group and the control group after 12 weeks of treatment(P< 0.05).4.There were significant differences in the improvement of function, joint mobility and muscle strength between the two groups after 12 weeks of treatment(P < 0.05),and the experimental group was significantly better than the control group. Conclusions: For archers with subacromial impingement syndrome, physical therapy and exercise rehabilitation training can alleviate symptoms, improve shoulder joint function, increase range of motion, and increase the muscle strength of shoulder joint muscles, but exercise rehabilitation combined with physical therapy can better alleviate symptoms, restore function, increase range of motion and increase muscle strength.
