With the continuous development of quality education in China,more and more schools and teachers attach importance to estimation.Estimation,as an important part of mathematics teaching task,is clearly put forward in Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2011 edition).It is of great value to cultivate students' estimation consciousness,develop their estimation ability and let students have a good sense of number.promulgated by the Ministry of Education: Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2011edition).Beijing: People's Education Press 2011 is enough for us to see that estimating learning is a big problem that can not be ignored in primary school teaching.However,in real life,we can see that estimation occupies an increasingly important position,which helps us to recognize the important value and role of estimation in the process of education.In this study,literature research,questionnaire survey,interviews and testing methods are used to study the current status of fourth grade students' estimation.Through questionnaires and test papers,it is found that students' ability to optimize the estimation algorithm in problem scenarios is weak;the estimation results deviate greatly and the selection of estimation methods is single;students lack reasonable judgement of estimation;the problem of first calculation and then evaluation is estimated for evaluation.The reasons for the problems are that teachers do not attach enough importance to estimation in teaching,teachers present a single problem scenario in teaching,teachers do not give proper guidance to students' estimation methods,students lack estimation exercises and lack of solid mastery of estimation methods.In view of the problems existing in students' estimation,this paper puts forward effective strategies to strengthen the cultivation of estimation awareness,improve teachers' estimation awareness,enrich the teaching content of estimation by drawing materials from various sources,improve estimation awareness under the guidance of estimation methods,and strengthen students' estimation practice so as to realize flexible application of estimation.The significance of the study is to put forward effective strategies for the shortcomings of fourth grade students' estimation,mainly in order to cultivate students' ability to solvepractical problems.Therefore,based on the estimation of practical needs,it is more conducive to guide the efficient learning of primary school students' mathematical estimation,hoping to provide a reference for primary school mathematics teachers on the front line.
