Elementary school general teacher means someone who can utilize the background of“general”to achieve multi subject integrated teaching.The existence of general teachers can help alleviate the shortage of teachers in rural areas,it makes rural schools set up courses suff-iciently and completely,and it adapted to the practical needs of basic education in China.In the long term,the development of social knowledge presents a comprehensive trend,training requirements for people are increasingly interdisciplinary and complex,therefore,the existence of general teachers is also in line with the trend of primary education reform and development.So,what are the actual conditions face by general teachers' profession?Research about this problem,reveal the occupational dilemma faced by general teachers,and make targeted recommendations,this undoubtedly helps to draw attention to general teachers,so as to improve their conditions face by profession.Research world wide primarily focus on the teacher training before first job,instead of difficulties general teachers face while they are at the job.This research focus on difficulty general teachers face on the job.Base on previous research,this research utilize literature research,observation,and interviews investigated general teachers in six different elementary school in Qianshan City and Taihu County of Anhui district.Research has concluded,currently general teachers in our country face follow problems:teaching tasks are numerous and complex,general teachers have great pressure of work;general teachers receive low wages,it can't reflect the general teaching work;general teachers is not good at general teaching,the teaching quality is not high;general teachers have awkward status,their professional development paths are limited.All problems listed above cause quality of education not as good as expected,and can not reach the goals set.Analysis of problems general teacher face:policies support for general teacher is inadequate;public opinion support for general teachers is scarce;the working conditions for general teacher are generally poor;general teachers lack self-professional development.This research make proposal base on government,social,job training,improvement of working environment and teacher professional development.These proposals will improve the ability of elementary school general teachers,thus fundamentally improve the quality of education in elementary schools.These proposals are as follow:Improve current government policies for general teachers,improve social recognition of general teachers,build a more well rounded training system for general teachers,optimize working environment for general teachers and enhance professional self-development ability for general teachers.
