Study On The Spatial And Temporal Evolution And Influencing Factors Of The Relationship Between Population And Economy In Henan Province

Population and economy are two major factors of regional development.The inconsistency between population and economy in spatial distribution will lead to uneven development of regional disparity,and the relationship between population and economy and whether they match.An important issue to affecting the economic development of a region.As a province with a large population and a large agricultural province in China,with the rapid advancement of industrialization and urbanization,and the influence of national and local development strategies,the economy and society are undergoing tremendous transformation,which will inevitably lead to a pattern of population and economic space.The drastic changes and restructuring have led to the redistribution and layout of resource elements in Henan Province,which will further affect the regional equilibrium and coordinated development.Based on the above analysis,this thesis uses spatial exploratory analysis and descriptive analysis methods,regional center of gravity model,regional coefficient of variation,regional inconsistency index,and econometric regression model from different scales such as city and county,to study the spatial and temporal evolution and influencing factors of the relationship between population and economy in Henan Province since the Reform and Opening.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The spatial and economic spatial structure of Henan Province has experienced a gradual increase in the population and economic status of the Central Plains urban agglomeration,and the spatial evolution of the population and economic status in the eastern and southern regions of Henan Province.Due to this process,the southeastern aera of Henan Province The spatial structure of the heavy-northwest population is undergoing reshaping,while the economic size of the central and northwestern regions is relatively high and the spatial structure with a lower economic size in the southeast has undergone a strong process.(2)The spatial distribution of population and economy in Henan Province has a tendency to gathering in key areas.The population has a process of gathering in central cities.In particular,the urban areas of Zhengzhou and Luoyang have demonstrated strong population agglomeration and growth capacity;the economy also has a tendency to gathering in individual central cities,and the economic agglomeration trend of Zhengzhou is very obvious.The population has a tendency to gathering from the southeastern plain agricultural area,the mountain area and the hilly area in the south of Henan Province to the Zhengzhou area in the core area of the Central Plains urban agglomeration,and the economy has shown a tendency to gathering in the central area such as Zhengzhou,Kaifeng,Jiaozuo,Xinxiang,Xuchang and so on.(3)The evolution of the spatial structure of population and economy in Henan Province has certain difference.The spatial structure of the population gradually has evolved from the spatial dual structure of low and low agglomeration and high agglomeration to the multi-center-peripheral spatial distribution pattern,while the economic spatial structure experienced a gradual transformation from a multi-pole random space model to a key region.The situation of agglomeration formed a central-peripheral model.At the same time,in the central region,such as Zhengzhou,Kaifeng,the phenomenon of simultaneous polarization and diffusion of central cities appeared,which the process of co-promoting the population and economy of central cities and counties,in the areas of western Henan,southern Henan and eastern Henan.Presented as the polarization effect of the central cities,the population and economy are characterized by a rise in the central city and a decline in the surrounding counties.(4)The center of gravity of the population and economy in Henan Province had experienced the process of moving northward and moving eastward.During the period of heavy chemical industry,the central,western and northern regions with good industrialization have shown strong growth advantages and potential,while the traditional agricultural areas in southern Henan and eastern Henan failed to adapt to the development trend of industrialization.The status is in a downward trend,the center of gravity of the population and economy in Henan Province appeared to move northward.In the transition period of industrialization,the dominant development model of resource-based industries in the western and northern regions faceed the problem of transformation and upgrading,and the growth advantages and potentials are gradually reduced,while the eastern and southern regions.The traditional agricultural areas have taken advantage of the opportunity of industrial transfer to form industrial systems such as agricultural and sideline products processing,footwear and machinery,and industrial and economic status.The industrial and economic status has shown an upward trend,and The center of gravity of the population and economy has shown a trend of moving southeast.(5)The time about the transformation of population and economic spatial structure is inconsistent with space.The evolution of economic spatial structure and the center of gravity of ecnonmy is more frequently and easily,while the spatial structure of population and the center of gravity of popilation are difficult and slow,with certain lag.The center of gravity of economy has experienced the process of moving to the northeast,northwest,south,southwest,north,south,southeast.The center of gravity of population has experienced the process of moving to the northeast direction,northwest direction,southeast.Since 2000,the shift in population focus is slower than the change in economic focus.At the same time,the central cities show the characteristics of population growth and agglomeration faster than economic growth and agglomeration.The growth and agglomeration of economy of the central and northwestern regions with better industrial bases are faster than the growth and agglomeration of population,while the eastern,southern and western regions of traditional plain agricultural areas and mountain areas face the problem,such as economic status is reducing and population is increasing,and become the areas of backward and lagging economic development.(6)The role of the market mechanism is conducive to the agglomeration of the economy,capital factor and human capital,and the population will also migrate with the accumulation of economic activities.However,due to the lag of movement of population,the inconsistency between population and economy is further strengthened.Although the government can enhance regional connectivity,such as strengthening traffic infrastructure construction to promote population mobility and reducing spatial inconsistency between the economy and population,the role of the government is not obvious,because Henan Province is in the process of rapid industrialization,the effect of the regional development strategy on accelerating the agglomeration of economy,but the effect on population agglomeration is still not obvious,so the government regional policy further exacerbates the inconsistency between population and economic distribution.In addition,based on the conclusions of the research,this thesis proposes some policy recommendations: the government should enhance the coherence of relevant regional development strategies in Henan Province,the government also should continue to strengthen the process of factor agglomeration in key areas,and give full attention to the scale of ecnonmy of central cities.It is necessary to take into account the role of counties as a strategic fulcrum in population and economic agglomeration,and pay attention to the backward of economic development and the problem of greater population pressure and insufficient economic development in areas where economic development lags behind,and eliminate various obstacles to population mobility.A series of policy proposals also should be made to promote the common movement of population and economy.
