The Spatial Pattern Study Of Population-Economic's Association And Coupling Of The Counties In Henan Province

Population and economy are the two basic factors affecting social development, which share a dialectical relationship between them. As the core issue in regional sustainable development, the relationship between population and economy has always attracted much attention from demographers,economists, and geographers.This paper, taking 126 counties of henan province as the research object, using the concentration index,the index of center of gravity, the Pearson correlation coefficient, ESDA and coupling coordination index method is discussed of county of henan province from 2001 to 2014 scale space relationship of demographic and economic changes, and obtain the following conclusions:(1)The spatial distribution of populationand economy in the counties of Henan province is extremely unbalanced. The geographic concentration of population possesses high value in the middle and low values on all sides. While the geographic concentration of economy shares almost a spatial consistency with that of population.Thedevelopment relevance between population and economy is not strong on the county scale, but the unbalanced distribution doesn't change radically.(2)During the study period in this thesis, population gravity presents a “ù” type and the economy gravity indicates a “ì” type, both the population gravity and economy gravity shift towards northwest. However,the distance of economy gravity is larger than that of population gravity, which indicates that the distance change of economy gravity is more flexible thanthat of population gravity. As for the space overlapping,from 2001 to 2014, populationand economy gravities share less overlaps and present in a dispersive way;meanwhile, from 2001 to 2014, the space consistency between population gravity and economy gravity is reduced and is becoming more and more different from each other.(3)The mean absolute values of geographic concentration of population and economy are low on the temporal sequence of the Pearson correlation coefficient, and are distributed in the less relevant areas with a weak corresponding relation; the number of counties with the same concentration tendency in population and economy is larger than those with opposite tendency. The counties with the same concentration are distributed in the central and southwest areas of Henan province, and the counties with the opposite tendency spread over the west and northern areas of Henan province. Pearson profiles indicate that the agglomeration indexes of population-economy in the year of 2001,2005,2010,2014 are strengthening their relevance, and the four-year regression result manifests that geographic concentration of economy exert a positive influence on the geographic concentration of population on the county scale, and this influence will decrease in the end.(4)From the spatial autocorrelation analysis, a weak spatial positive relevance exists between population and economy. The population concentration is reducing, while the economy concentration is strengthening.The geographic concentration of population and economy in most counties present a “L-L” type, which are mainly distributed in the Funiu Mountain areas in the west of Henan province and Dabieshan Mountainareas in the south of Henan province; the bivariate spatial autocorrelation analysis doesn't reveal an overt spatial relation between population concentration and economy concentration. The LISA result manifests that the “L-L” type possesses broader areas and is distributed in Funiu Mountain and Dabieshan Mountain areas.(5)From the coupling indexes, it can be seen that the coupling indexes of the counties in Henan province on the whole take on a rising trend. The number of counties with relative high and medium coupling indexes is increasing, and the counties with high and relative high coupling indexes are distributedaround Zhengzhou, and the counties with low and relative low coupling indexes are mainly distributed in the four counties in the east of Henan province. The coupling indexes of the northwest areas of Henan province is increasing greatly, while the coupling indexes of thesoutheast areas decrease in the process of increasing. The coordinating levels among 126 counties are highly unbalanced, and the number of low coordinated counties and high coordinated counties present a polarized trend; and the number of counties with high coordinated level and relative high coordinated level is small, which are distributed in a spotty way; while the number of counties with low coordinated and relative coordinated levels is large,which surround aroundthe counties with high and relative high coordinated levels.In addition, in view of the above results put forward the following Suggestions: government policy tilt to economicdepression is necessary; strengthening the construction of infrastructure of restricted by geographical area; regional growth pole radiating and driving play to do a better job.
