With globalization sweeping across regions in the new period,the economy of flattening,mass migration,and the environmental problems related to every countries,makes the connections between people closer.It’s a common goal to cultivate world citizens who match this era,education for international understanding obtained new force exceeding the age under such background.This research comprehensively uses a variety of research methods,such as historical research method,literature research method,comparative research method,etc.There are six parts in this paper.The introduction mainly introduces the reason and value of selecting the education for international understanding of American schools as the research object,and then states the research status of this topic.First chapter introduces historical background and three times development of the American education for international understanding,the second chapter illustrates the concept of implementation of education for schools’ international understanding,including goals with global competence as the core and extremely rich content,the third chapter presents the real form of curriculum,instruction and evaluation of education for international understanding of American schools,the fourth chapter summarizes its characteristics,and the last chapter gives some suggestions on the basis of Chinese education reality in order to better serve the development of education in China.
