Calculating ability is one of the three basic skills and ten core concept words recognized by the international community,and its importance is self-evident.At the stage of elementary school,students are inseparable from mathematical operations throughout the learning process of mathematics.In particular,the mathematics calculating ability has become a focus of attention when students at the sixth grade have systematically studied the content of the primary school mathematics and are at the stage of transition from the specific computing phase to the formal computing phase.The sixth grade students in six schools in Haikou city and rural areas were selected as the research objects,and the fourth item in the examination paper of the sixth grade mathematics section of Haikou city in the first semester of 2018 / 2019 was chosen as the research content.According to the calculating ability contents of the Standard(2011 edition)and the calculating contents in the textbooks of the elementary school,mathematical computing ability is divided into five dimensions: multiplication,division,mixed operation,simple operation,and solution equation.SPSS,EXCEL and other statistical methods are used in this research.Student's mathematical ability will be analyzed from the "unanswered rate,incomplete error answer rate,complete wrong answer rate,error rate,and the result is not the simplest score." Furthermore,from the overall point of view,comprehensively measure the level of mathematics calculating ability of the sixth grade students in Haikou City and analyze the various types of calculating errors that appear in the process from the perspective of“quality”.The study shows that the sixth-grade students in Haikou City have relatively good mathematical calculating ability,but there are still a small number of students whose mathematics calculating ability needs to be strengthened.At the same time,students differ in the different dimensions of the calculating operation.It also shows that students have weak sense of briefing calculating and are not rigorous when write their answers.Students sometimes write nothing in the process of answering questions and a variety of errors appear during their calculating.If students' good writing habits and the habits of carefully checkingare strengthened before class,and during the calculating teaching,students can pay more attention to the explanation of calculating methods and the Arithmetic,and effectively analyze and utilize students' operational errors after class to comprehensively improve students' mathematics computing ability.Students can rise from the stage of understanding basics of calculating to the stage of forming some basic skills and then gain the calculating ability.
