The new round of college entrance examination reform in our country starts from reducing students’ academic burden,giving consideration to students’ aspirations and advantageous to their personal development.It enables high school students to choose their own subjects according to the specialties they intend to apply for university entrance examination.That is to say,it implements the teaching mode of course selection and Class-Taking system in ordinary high schools.At present,the first and second grade of Tianjin ordinary high school have carried out the course-selecting and class-walking teaching,which indicates that the education and teaching of ordinary high school will face great opportunities and challenges,such as the gradual diversification of teaching content and methods,and the change of learning conditions and methods of high school students.However,in view of the fact that class-based teaching is still in the exploratory stage,many imperfect problems will appear in the implementation process.This study investigates the current situation of class-based teaching in senior high schools in our city,finds out the relevant positive factors and imperfections,and makes the class-based teaching system gradually improve and optimize.On the basis of consulting the domestic and foreign literature on the course selection system and combining with the actual situation of biology class selection in Tianjin senior high schools,this study conducted a sample survey on the current situation of biology class selection in five senior high schools in Tianjin(S,D,W,G,Z)and the attitudes of the course selectors.The samples involved three types of subjects.Schools:800 senior high school students from city key,District key and township high schools were surveyed with questionnaires on the current situation of biology Class-Taking teaching,the starting point of students’ choosing biology class,and students’ satisfaction with current class-taking.The survey results show that the overall satisfaction of Tianjin ordinary high schools in implementing biology class walking teaching is high,with the total number reaching 77.67%.Among them,the satisfaction of teaching resources allocation is the highest,and the satisfaction of students in township high schools is the highest.However,students of different sexes have different satisfaction with the implementation of the elective system.The overall satisfaction of boys is significantly higher than that of girls(P<0.05).Schools have made adequate preparations for the quality of courses,the level of teachers,the protection of students5 personality and the right to choose courses independently,and the allocation of resources.They have also given guidance to students before choosing courses,but the coverage of the handbook is not comprehensive enough.There were significant differences in the proportion of students choosing biology courses among different senior high schools(P<0.05).Among them,the proportion of key district and township high schools was significantly higher than that of key municipal high schools.There was a significant difference between different genders in choosing course combinations(P<0.05).The number of boys choosing "physics,chemistry and biology" combination was the largest,while the number of girls choosing "chemistry,biology and history" combination was the largest.At the same time,there was a significant difference in course combinations among different schools(P<0.05).The proportion of students choosing "physics,chemistry and biology" combination in key city schools was significantly higher.Among the other two types of schools,the proportion of "chemistry,biology and history" in township high schools is higher than that in other two types of schools.The reason may be related to the low difficulty of biology course and the restriction of applying for University majors.Most students’ starting point of choosing biology course is "interest and personality development".Relevance analysis shows that there is a clear correlation between students’ choosing biology course and their future learning career and career planning,which indicates that the current course-choosing and Class-Choosing teaching has reached the original intention of promoting students’ personality development.The survey found that there are the following problems in choosing biology courses in senior high schools:at school level,they mainly include "’making students choose courses according to their meals,improper schedule,tedious process of choosing classes,insufficient resources of biology teachers,lack of laboratory equipment,and increasing difficulty in student management".Students think that there are"fierce competition among learners,inadequate feedback from homework,and more opportunities to show in class’ Less,shorter class break,affecting students’ interpersonal communication and not being able to choose teachers independently.Researchers suggest that students should set up a correct learning outlook when choosing courses,and choose courses of interest in order to make full use of their strengths and avoid their weaknesses.Schools should change the traditional management mode of head teachers and implement the management mode of combining administrative classes with teaching classes.In addition,due to the great difference of students’academic level after mixed class teaching,it is suggested that teachers should adopt stratified teaching method in order to teach students in accordance with their aptitude when teaching courses.In addition,strengthening the investment in basic education and increasing the allocation of individualized teaching resources are also important factors to solve the problem. |
