Reading efficacy refers to students' expectations and judgments about whether they can complete reading tasks.It is also a belief that supports students' to read continuously,which sometimes predicts reading results more accurately than students' actual reading competence.In recent years,more and more Chinese educators have paid attention to the influence of students' reading psychology and reading experience on their reading activities,which is because of cultivating reading literacy and the requirements approved by international large-scale reading assessment.On the other hand,it is also because of the call from modern reading teaching for reading efficacy.Although the current research on reading psychology has become increasingly complete,there are still many undetected problems need to be explored.Based on the existing research,the following aspects are addressed in this thesis:In the first chapter,firstly,the author designs the questionnaire of reading efficacy by studying related theories,and elaborates the process of selecting the research subjects,the structure and content of the questionnaire.Secondly,the qualities of the reading literacy test paper and the reading efficacy questionnaire are tested.Finally,the author cxplains the process of collecting and analyzing data.In second chapter,the author investigates the current situation of middle school students' reading efficacy and how their reading efficacy influence their reading literacy.It will be analyzed in the five dimensions:the sense of compete nce,the sense of beneficial feeling,the sense of environment,the sense of control and the sense of ability.According to the analysis of the questionnaire data,it is found that students are more confident and negatively attributed based on internal factors;they are more confident in the ordinary situation,and their performance in challenging situation is poor;they regulate themselves well in the reading activities,and the performance of self-monitoring is poor;they are easily disturbed when they are reading,and they do not use academic help-seeking strategy very well;their planning abilities are weak,and their reading strategy ability is not hierarchical Additionally,the SPSS software was used to analyze the questionnaire data and the test scores.The data showed that a significant positive correlation between reading efficacy and reading scores.Finally,by further analyzing the relationship between the dimensions of reading efficacy and reading literacy,the author found that there is a significant correlation between the sense of control,the sense of ability and reading grades,the sense of competencies and reading literacy are related,there is no significant linear correlation between the sense of beneficial feeling and reading literacy.In the third chapter,based on the research of current situation of reading efficacy and analysis of results,the author proposes some strategies for fostering students'reading efficacy.First of all,teachers should create an relaxing reading environment to improve students' reading experience.Secondly,teachers should improve the reading teaching process and pay attention to cultivating the reading efficacy.Finally,teachers should change the reading evaluation mode to improve students' reading efficacy.In the fourth chapter,five principles in using of reading efficacy frosting strategies are introduced,including the combination of universality and pertinence;the combination of subjectivity and equality;the combination of collective education and individual counseling;and the combination of artistry and comprehensiveness.
