| Practical writing is a substantive writing and played a vital role in linguistic regardless different stages of learning pathway.In daily life,it is common tools used by people include professionals,students,and working groups to deal with daily affairs.Hence,practical writing acts as a good communication tool.To support the saying,people use it to exchange information,exchange ideas,coordinate work and even solve problems.In a nutshell,its universality,applicability and practicality are closely related to people’s daily life,study and work.Since 1987,Malaysia Ministry of Education has announced that Mandarin is a compulsory language in Language Curriculum for Secondary School(KBSM).Therefore,practical writing is confirmed to list as mandatory content for Chinese test paper in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia(SPM).Nowadays,internet plays a role to provide information needed through search engines.However,the information of Chinese practical writing teaching materials in Secondary institutions is still categorized as minimal awareness in digital world-internet.Most of the time,teachers will collect applied language teaching information through traditional methods such as textbooks or libraries.Despite practical writing conquers a big pie in teaching syllabus of Secondary Institution of Malaysia,the lack of information and awareness level are yet to be concerned.To support the findings,it explains that practical writing is slightly neglected at certain teaching levels of hierarchy;especially apply on mentality point of view from students and teachers.To fill in the research gap,the author will investigate the gap through the applied methods.The methods are i)gather raw data from questionnaire distribution among Chinese students and teachers in secondary schools,Kuantan,Pahang and ii)to study up-to-date syllabus from Chinese textbooks.Herewith,the author can understand the problems;thus,it will conclude solutions for existing problems of teaching eventually.By apply the solutions,the research findings aim to propose strategic teaching in solving students’ writing problems,and improved version of teaching methods.Overall,it contributes to better development of practical writing in future.The thesis paper is divided into five chapters:-Chapter 1:Introduction.In this chapter,it begins with the background study of exiting phenomenon face by Chinese Education in Secondary Institution of Malaysia.Herewith,it penetrates into investigation of practical writing in teaching syllabus of Secondary Institution.Following,the chapter covers research status and problems,research purpose,scope of research study,and methodology.Chapter 2:Theoretical framework.In chapter 2,it studies on the relationship of applied theories in Mandarin practical writing teaching syllabus and the required standard of Mandarin teaching syllabus in Secondary Institution of Malaysia.Thus,the relationship study will present the importance of practical writing with its practical benefits to students in Secondary Institution.In chapter 3,author uses two methods which are questionnaire distribution among educators and students hood and discussion among selected educators as the methodology used.Based on results obtained from collected data,it generate findings of problems occur in application of practical writing,educators and students’ point of views in practical writing teaching methods,teaching methods,the behavior of educator and students.In chapter 4,after investigating on the collected data,this chapter emphasis on proposed strategies in target this thesis paper.The strategies have been taken into consideration from the point of view of educators in Secondary Institution,students,and teaching material.Its outcome strategies focus on how to improve the teaching methods,resolve flaws of practical writing teaching syllabus,and standards of practical writing in Secondary Institutions,Kuantan City.Chapter 5:Conclusion.In last chapter,it concludes that educators shall acknowledge and understand the importance role of practical writing in Chinese Education of Secondary Institution in Malaysia.With that,it will lead to improvement in practical writing education standard and thus benefits the future generation. |
