Discipline teaching and research group is an important part of organizational structure of school,From the beginning of its formal establishment to the present,it has a history of five or sixty years.It played an important role in promoting the development of teachers and students,and guaranteeing the teaching quality during the period of lack of educational resources and qualified teachers,with the way of assembling the teachers with the same or similar subjects to research teaching under the guarantee of the teaching and research group system.However,with the development of school education,the improvement of teachers' level and the implementation of the new curriculum reform,the drawbacks of traditional teaching and research work are increasingly prominent.This research takes the teaching and research group of an ordinary middle school in Nanchang,Jiangxi as the research object.Using the methods of literature,questionnaire,interview,observation and other research methods,the research collects the data of the aspects in teachers' professional development consciousness,attitude,behavior,function of teaching and research group,teaching and research group activities,teaching and research results,and teachers' participation in teaching and research.With the guidance of the theory of organizational system,the theory of social interdependence and the theory of teacher professional development,and through the collation and analysis of data,we find that there are some characteristics and deficiencies of the current teaching and research group in the promotion of teachers' professional development:1.Teachers have strong promoting consciousness in profession but lack of action;2.The teacher's independent development mode is single;3.The process of teaching and research tends to be formalized in the teaching and research;4.The functions of the teaching and research group are both professional and administrative,and administrative functions are prominent;5.The expectations of all teachers can't be met by the teaching and research activities.To solve these problems,this research proposes: 1.Strengthen the main body status of teachers to play their subjective initiative;2.Promote the real cooperation of teachers to enable teachers to grow in cooperation;3.Reform the management system of teaching and research Group to implement the participatory management of the teaching and research group;4.Dilute the executive role of the teaching and research group leader,and give full play to their professional leading function;5.Enrich teaching research forms to stimulate the potential of teachers;6.Strengthen the cooperation with different schools,and increase the opportunity for teachers to go out to study to expand the perspective of teachers.
