A Study On Women's Education In The Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region During The Period Of Comprehensive War Of Resistance Against Japan

Before the the Comprehensive War of Resistance Against Japan,under the yoke of feudal ideology,women in Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei region were confined to their homes all the year round,serving their parents-in-law,husbands and children day by day.Not only did they not have basic political and economic rights,but they could not even get married independently and suffered from hardships of life.Fortunately,few of them had the chance to receive education.Therefore,the educational foundation of women's society in Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei region was extremely weak.Since the establishment of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region,the closeness of women has weakened and their autonomy has begun to increase.In addition to the urging and inspiration of the three trends of women's education in modern times,women's quietly budding educational consciousness in the region has not only regenerated,but also been unprecedentedly strong under the influence of the Communist party's propaganda and changes in social environment,as a result of their gradually participating in social life and supporting the cause of the Anti-Japanese War.At that time,in order to improve women's literacy and promote the national Anti-Japanese war,the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region Government provided active support and strong help for the smooth development and steady progress of women's education from three aspects:policy,management system and organizational form.Under this background,women's education in the Border Region began to take place and develop.However,due to the complexity of the war situation at that time,the legacy of feudal ideas and the lack of previous experience in women's education,women's education in the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region was not smooth in practice.In view of this,the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region Government,based on reality,mobilized and guided women's education through policy mobilization and organizational mobilization firstly,and then organized and implemented women's education through running training courses for women cadres,organizing winter schools and establishing public schools.Then,through the collection,sorting,synthesizing,analyzing,summarizing and improving,the women's education in different stages and different regions was improved,which made women's education in this border area develop step by step in this virtuous circle.Women's education in the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region is not only an integral part of the cause of the Anti-Japanese War,so it presents a glorious revolutionary color.It is also an important part of women's liberation,so it shines with distinct gender characteristics.Therefore,it has unique attributes in purpose,object,content,method and form.It has played an important role in improving women's cultural literacy and spiritual realm,improving family relations and living atmosphere,promoting social patriotic salvation and women's liberation.The historical role also has important reference significance for the development of contemporary women's education.
