Reading ability is a necessary skill for individual survival and development.The cultivation of reading literacy of junior high school students is the core content of junior high school Chinese teaching.The society pays more and more attention to reading,reading is advocated should become more people's lifelong habit.In 1972,the United Nations educational,scientific and cultural organization(UNESCO)put forward the idea of "reading society".In 1995,April 23 of each year was set as "world reading day".As an International Assessment project with great International influence,the program for International Student Assessment(PISA)is evaluated every three years,which is dedicated to the investigation of the lifelong ability of students at the age of 15.In recent years,the influence of PISA in China's education sector has also been growing.The PISA reading assessment focuses on the acquisition of lifelong ability in reading literacy of students at the age of 15,and on whether students at the end of compulsory education have all the abilities needed to step into the society.Junior high school is a key stage for the formation of various basic qualities of individuals,and reading quality is no exception.In the context of PISA reading assessment,the author pays attention to the teaching of Chinese reading in junior high school.This paper aims to examine some problems existing in Chinese reading teaching in junior middle schools of Xining through PISA reading assessment,and on this basis,propose corresponding optimization strategies for Chinese reading teaching in junior middle schools of Xining.Using literature review,questionnaire survey and other research methods,the author first made a comprehensive introduction to the contents of PISA,PISA reading assessment and the relationship between PISA reading assessment and Chinese reading teaching in junior middle schools in China.Secondly,the author went deep into Xining junior high school to explore some problems in the teaching of reading in Xining junior high school.Finally,based on the concept of PISA reading assessment,the author proposes corresponding optimization strategies for Chinese reading teaching in junior middle schools in Xining.It is hoped that the optimization strategies put forward by the author can be truly applied to the teaching of Chinese reading in junior middle schools in Xining,so as to change some existing problems and improve the teaching level of Chinese reading in junior middle schools in Xining.
