The scientific spirit is the value that is indispensable in human production and life and contributes to human development and progress.Strengthening the cultivation of scientific spirit is not only the need for the advancement of the times and improvement of national quality,but also the need of the cultivation of talents.The six core qualities contained in the Middle School Students' Scientific Development Core Literacy,published in September 2016,including the scientific spirit.Cultivating students' scientific spirit in basic education is the requirement of compulsory education curriculum standard and Middle School Students' Scientific Development Core Literacy.The cultivation of students' scientific spirit through teaching can enhance students' scientific consciousness and improve their scientific literacy,and at the same time,it can increase the internal motivation of learning and living.Therefore,how to cultivate students' scientific spirit in biology teaching of junior high school is a subject worth studying.This study adopts the literature research method,the questionnaire method and the interview method.Through consulting the relevant literature of the scientific spirit to know the research background and the theoretical basis of it,laying the foundation for the compilation of the questionnaire and the design of the case.Taking some junior middle school biology teachers and students in Yantai as the object,this study makes a questionnaire survey on the cultivation of scientific spirit in junior middle school biology teaching.From the understanding about the scientific spirit,teachers' attitude towards the cultivation of scientific spirit,the teaching method adopted by the teacher,scientific consciousness of the students,the students existing scientific spirit,the attitude of students towards the teaching method by the teachers to understand the current situation of the cultivation of scientific spirit in teaching.Through interviews with teachers,we can understand the factors that influence the cultivation of the scientific spirit.The investigation found that teachers are not comprehensive the scientific spirit and the scientific spirit of some teachers need to be strengthened.Teachers agree with the importance of cultivating the scientific spirit in teaching.The teachers have different understanding and attitude toward scientific spirit,and the situation ofcultivating the scientific spirit is different.The choice and use of teaching modes by teachers,the cognitive development stage of students,and the democratic classroom atmosphere will affect the cultivation of students' scientific spirit.According to some problems found in investigation in cultivating the spirit of science in teaching and compared with relevant theories,some teaching strategies for cultivating scientific spirit in biology teaching in junior high school are proposed,paying attention to the teaching of history of science,attaching importance to inquiry type,giving full play to the advantages of experimental teaching,infiltrating the concept of STSE,creating a harmonious and democratic environment.Finally,in order to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of teaching strategies,and combined with the scientific spirit content and principles that should be cultivated in junior high school biology teaching,the teaching cases of the cultivation of the scientific spirit are designed in this essay,including two classes,one is Environmental Effects on Biology,and the other is Virus.Through evaluation of experts and self-reflection,perfecting the cases of cultivating the scientific spirit.The research concluded that it is necessary and feasible to cultivate the scientific spirit of junior middle school students in junior middle school biology teaching.Therefore,we should strengthen teachers' recognition and understanding of the scientific spirit,in order to strengthen the cultivation of students' scientific spirit according to the cultivation principles and strategies of the scientific spirit.
