In the context of the current reform,the cultivation of key competence is an important orientation of teaching.As one of the key competences of chemistry,model cognition is realized through the teaching of the subject.In the chemistry teaching of high school,the Material's Structures and Properties has always been a difficult area in teaching,and now it is compulsory knowledge in the college entrance examination of chemistry.So how will the chemistry teaching of senior high school,especially the Material's Structures and Properties train and realize the students' key competence ? Therefore in order to cultivate talents,lecturers are trying to explore diversified teaching methods for better development of model cognition of students,for the character and ability to explore the unknown world of senior high school student.After a certain understanding of the the current situation of teaching research about model cognition and the Material's Structures and Properties,combined with the views of relevant researchers,This paper elaborates on the connotation of model and model cognition competence,makes a brief classification about chemistry models of teaching.Combined with the connotation and level division of model cognition competence proposed in the curriculum standard,based on the analysis of the characteristics of Material's Structures and Properties and cognitive characteristics of students,several teaching strategies that conducive to the cultivation of model cognitive competence of students are summarized,including understand the nature of science from the process of constructing model and know about the microstructure with the help of model and so on.Atomic structure model and electron configuration are selected as examples.Through the concrete teaching design,this paper explains how to cultivate students' model cognitive competence in chemistry teaching.Taking the model of atomic structure as an example,the teaching objectives and strategies are determined after the analysis of curriculum standards,textbooks and learning situation,The teaching process that reveals the thinking method behind the establishment and development of atomic structure is designed.After the teaching practice,we analyzed the teaching effect by observing the classroom,test and interview after class.Through the practice of two teaching cases.,the research shows that the teaching under the guidance of teaching strategy is conducive to stimulating students' learning interest and grasping knowledge points,it can help students understand scientific thinking and methods in the process of learning the establishment and development of atomic structure model,the teaching method of building floor model can promote students' understanding of microstructure.And then help students cultivate model cognition competence.The teaching strategy and teaching design based on model cognitive competence which proposed in this study has reference meaning for chemistry teaching.
