Usability Research Of SPOC In Universities Based On Students' Experience

The curriculum is the core element in the university personnel training's system.The Education Informatization 2.0 and the Internet+ Education have enabled all universities to try to change the traditional teaching mode,establish the SPOC of their own universities and implement online and offline mixed teaching mode.After fully reviewing the domestic and international SPOC research,this study based on experts'research on usability and user experience,combined with the usage of SPOC in universities,the usability criteria,the usability assessment and related scale,finally designed the appropriate questionnaire for researching the usability of SPOC in universities.This study uses questionnaires method,think-aloud method and usability test to analyze two different SPOC of China Central Normal University and University of California,X.Hope to find out the usability problems in those SPOC,and propose corresponding improvement suggestions for the above problems.The main work of this study:1.Using literature research method to sort out various domestic and international literatures related to user experience,usability and SPOC to understand the current research status of SPOC in universities,aiming to find out the research ideas and methods which appropriate for the usability study of SPOC in universities.2.By referring to the usability methods,usability criteria and usability scale which used in previous research,this study based on the usability engineering,combined with the actual usage of the SPOC in universities and the characteristics of college students,eventually selected five indicators:leamability,efficiency,error,memorability and satisfaction and match related questions with each indicator to design the questionnaire for the usability study of SPOC.3.Hand out the designed questionnaire to the user group of the SPOC in Central China Normal University and University of California,X.Later retrieve questionnaire,analyze data from it and summarize the possible usability problems of the SPOC.4.Using the think-aloud method and usability test to test the selected SPOC users from Central China Normal University and University of California,X.Evaluate the usability level of the SPOC in two universities based on users' performance in completing tasks in usability test,find problems of the SPOC.5.Based on the previous study,analyze the questionnaire data,think-aloud data and usability test data,compare them and check whether they are relevant.In the end,summarize the problems of functional modules,resource settings and user support in two different SPOC.According to the above problems,this study proposes improvement measures based on suggestions of users and experts.
