The international charter of geographical education 2016 puts forward that "Geography pays attention to the interaction between human beings and the environment in specific places and location conditions".Place names record the phenomena of natural geography and human geography as well as the track of their changes.Place names are as important to geography as time is to history.Place names are the basic knowledge that constitutes the subject of geography.The discipline of geography will lose its support.There are a lot of researche on place name,but most of them focus on toponymy,historical geography,English,folk culture,human geography and other fields.On the basis of previous toponymic studies and based on the resources of local geography curriculum,this paper tries to establish the development and application system of toponymic curriculum resources.At present,the study of place names as geography curriculum resources is still relatively blank,and there is no systematic theory and method to sort out and classify place names curriculum resources.This paper enriches the study of place names names in Guangdong province and the resources of local geography courses.This study attempts to discuss the concept definition,development principle,standard,content and application of curriculum resources of place names.The first part is a literature review,which expounds the background of the selected topic,the progress of related theoretical research,the purpose and significance of the research,the research ideas,the theoretical basis,and puts forward the feasibility and necessity of developing theplace names curriculum resources in Guangdong Province.The second part is the collection and information data analysis of place name names inGuangdong Province.This paper sorts out the examples of place names of township corresponding to each category in guangdong province and their meanings,and makes statistics and spatial analysis on the information data of place names.This part lays a foundation for the resource development of toponymy course.The third part puts forward that the principles of the development of place name curriculum resources in Guangdong Province are the principle of adapting measures to local conditions,the principle of co-construction and sharing,and the principle of subjectivity.And the development standard of the course resources of place names should be the place names which contain geographical phenomena and geographical principles.Then on the basis of the above analysis the development contents of Guangdong Province place name course resources include natural geography place names course resources and human geography place namescourse resources.The third part puts forward the application principles of the course resources of place names in Guangdong Province,including typical principles,auxiliary principles and ideological principles.The greatest value of toponymy course resources lies in its application to teaching.This part establishes the matching relationship between geographical names,natural geography and human geography teaching applications in Guangdong Province,and summarizes the author's practical cases.
