The place names are an important foundation of geographical knowledge and the most geographical knowledge are linked to geographical names, no names will not be able to express and distinguish the individuality of the various geographical thing, it is difficult to find out the contact and difference of all kinds of thing and the geographical situation, it is difficult to reveal the rule of change and development of the various geographical situation and more difficult to carry through the geography education. Therefore, the place names play an important role in the geographical knowledge system and education. In the traditional geographical education, the place names usually required to remember, for example, country names, city names, mountains names, oceans names, transport route names, economic zones names and tourism place names. The phenomena are very common that geography education involved in the different types of names, a large number of name, one place more than one name, different place same name, which must usually bring to difficult for the teaching, so there is necessary to study the place names.As place names in "Tong Liao geography" local teaching material for research object, according to the theory of the study of toponymy, and combining to the theory of geographical courses and geography teaching theory, the place names in teaching materials put up five aspects analysis: such as the structure of names, the classification of names, the etymolopy of names, the geographical feature of names, Mongolian names translated to Chinese. However, the analysis of place names in the materials is not to increase the names signal to stimulate the mind of students to enhance the memory effect, but from the names of the specific spatial location and the names of every origin and history of the development and changes in the geography teaching to content the search-related natural and humanities information. Firstly, analyzed the structure of place names. Because the structure of place names play an important role in the geography teaching. Secondly, analyze the classification of the place names. From first chapter names category will find there is a wide variety of geographical names, consider the meaning of classification, in the geographical teaching. In local material, the classification of names based on the structure of the names have three categories, that is the adjective names, digital names, nominal names (including the physical geographical entity names, animal names, plant names, personality names and public facilities type names). Third, the etymology of geographical names was analyzed, including the language source of names and the nominating source of names. The names from the material drawn, the names appear in this article are Mongolian and Chinese language. The source of the names named in accordance with the classification and the uniqueness of Mongolian geographical names in the section II concluded that the place names named based on six principle, as to the physical geographical feature, to name of animal and plant, to artificial building name, to the tribal name, to people' name and people will and admiration. Fourth, analyze the geographical characteristics of the place names. The author analyzed the study of the place names from the geographical location and local physical and human geographical feature. Finally, analyze the form of the Mongolian name translated to Chinese. The author studied the Chinese language version local materials and some Mongolian names, according to its literal meaning can not understand it, this cause inconvenience for the understanding of the place names and geographical teaching, so we need to study the Mongolian place names to Chinese form to interpret Mongolian geographical names.On the basis of geography curriculum, the geography teaching two main theories put the analytical result of place names in the "Tong Liao geography" local material applied to the geographical classroom teaching. This is not only rich in geography classroom teaching material, can also act as linking theory with practice and enhance the studying geography interest of students. The author put names applied to the geography teaching from the two aspects. The place names applied in the teaching of physical geography and human geography. Actually the information of place names applied to the teaching content of physical geography (Tong Liao city location, topography, rivers) and human geography teaching content (population, ethnic, ecological environment, tourism resources). Among them, we can deal with place names data by the classroom import, new courses teaching, and summed up the lesson, that is, put place names data to all the time in class, and there is need to be using, it is put into the corresponding names on the map. We knows, that place names are an important element of the map, and the map is the second language for geography and place names application in the geography teaching should not leave the map alone to teach, or else place names lose the real and impact the geography teaching effect.In short, we want to do in accordance with the new geography curriculum standards, should make full use of geographical names knowledge and theory to enrich the process of the teaching materials and organizational teaching, thereby students improve the knowledge and skills, processes and methods, emotional attitudes and value in three dimensions.
