Deng Xiaoping once pointed out that the training of scientific and technological talents is based on education.Physics is an important branch of natural science.Its educational reform plays an important role in the progress of science and technology and scientific research.So how should physics textbooks be reformed,and from what aspects to change?With the progress of the times,the way of making cars behind closed doors obviously does not meet the needs of education.Only by knowing more about the development trend of foreign textbooks and pushing forward the further reform of physics textbooks,can we better adapt to the basic national conditions of our country and carry out physics teaching more effectively.This paper makes a comparison between the physics textbook "Scientific Explorer" in the United States and the compulsory education textbook "Physics" in the Pedagogical Press.Firstly,by consulting the literature,we can understand the general situation of the development of Physics Textbooks in the two countries,and have a certain understanding of the use and reform of Physics Textbooks in the two countries.By comparing the catalogue and knowledge points of junior middle school physics textbooks between China and the United States,this study comprehensively analyzed the depth and breadth of knowledge points involved in the textbooks,and found that the breadth of textbooks in the United States is higher than that in China,but the depth is lower.The arrangement order of American textbooks is more systematic.Our textbooks focus on the learning process from easy to difficult.American textbooks pay more attention to the students' access to scientific and technological achievements,while our country pays more attention to the students' understanding and mastery of theoretical knowledge.As far as the column setting of textbooks is concerned,the textbooks in the United States have reading guidance and more inquiry activities.Students can read independently,while the textbooks in China have corresponding text descriptions andpictures to assist,but they are more logical and not suitable for ordinary students to study independently.For the relevant mathematical knowledge involved,the American textbooks have arranged a detailed introduction,but the textbooks of our country have not mentioned,so it is necessary for educators to supplement the explanation according to the actual situation in the teaching process.As far as subject penetration is concerned,the textbooks of both countries involve this aspect,but the textbooks of the United States have more detailed introduction and application,which can stimulate students' interest in learning.Our country has some deficiencies in this aspect.According to the relevant problems and the actual teaching situation,the author puts forward some suggestions on the reform of teaching materials:1.Suggestions on the compilation of Textbooks-Appropriately increasing the scientific and technological knowledge of textbooks;.2.Suggestions for Teachers' Teaching: Make Teaching Life-oriented;3.Suggestions on the implementation of teaching: first interest,then study.
