As a new mode,STSE(Science,Technology,Society and Environment)education can be able to link schools with society to help students master the knowledge on the textbooks,arouse their social consciousness and sense of social responsibility,cultivate the ability to raise questions,establish hypotheses,solve problems and communicate,improve their scientific literacy,transform students from traditional talents into all-around development talents and make them become the constructive talents adaptable to the social development.Therefore,the implementation of STSE education is a long-term and systematic process.In this paper,based on the systematic analysis of the relevant literatures about STSE education at home and abroad,the investigation on the implementation of STSE education in junior middle school is conducted in which the interviews with five science teachers and questionnaire survey among 227 students from Junior 1,Junior2 and Junior 3 are included.The interviews with teachers are carried out face to face.From the point view of education executants,the understanding,attitude and suggestion of science teachers towards STSE education are got to know.The random sampling method is used for students' questionnaires.80 pieces of questionnaires are sent to each of three studying periods.There are 240 pieces of questionnaires in total of which 227 pieces are valid.The retrieved data is numbered and input by SPSS22.0 software.Statistical analysis,reliability analysis and exploratory factor analysis are carried out for the data.The results of students' questionnaires and interviews with teachers are mutually complementary and verifiable each other,which are more authentic and reliable.According to the specific situation of STSE education implemented and based on constructivism theory,life education theory and emotional education theory,the principles and strategies of STSE education implemented in science curriculum of junior middle school are presented.The principles of implementing STSE education include the principles of systematicness,objectivity,openness,development andparticipation.The strategies of implementing STSE education include the creation of STSE teaching situation,design of STSE heuristic questions,enriching the form of STSE teaching activities,giving full play to discipline advantages-scientific inquiry,assigning STSE homework and making rational use of multimedia equipment.In order to improve the scientific literacy of students,the teaching process of STSE education mode is designed,including six links-the creation of STSE situation,the establishment of cognitive conflict,exploration for evidence,conclusion,employment of concept and self-examination & evaluation.The feasibility of the theory is examined in four teaching practices,“The Diversity of Species”,“The Disperse State of Substance in Water” and “Measurement of Energy Transformation”,“The equilibrium conditions of leverage are studied”.Eventually,according to the teaching self-examination,the requirements of full implementation of STSE education are given to the teachers and teaching evaluation system.
