The development of shadow education in China in recent years is in full swing and there is a flood of status quo.This paper aims to explore the causes and governance dilemmas of shadow education from the perspective of demand,so as to achieve a deep understanding of the practice of shadow education from the perspective of educational sociology,thus enhancing the understanding of social factual relationships.This study is based on the interview method,supplemented by the literatur e method.Firstly,it clarifies the current situation of the flood of shadow education,explores the hot trend of shadow education development under the pressure of higher education,analyzes the concrete presentation of parents and students on how to make rational choices about shadow education,and the logic behind their actions.Innovatively propose a 3P model to explain that the needs of parents and students for shadow education are generated by the three main factors of Pressure,Progress and Potential.Among them,the pressure mainly refers to the pressure of students and parents to go to school and peer pressure.The progress mainly refers to the pursuit of progress by middle-school students in order to improve their performances.The potential mainly refers to students wishing to take the lead through tutoring.From the perspectives of concept guidance,intra-school constraints and off-campus norms,this paper analyzes the policy orientation of shadow education and governance in China,expounds the fact that policy formulation deviates from the actual needs,and reveals that the main focus of the governance of shadow education is that The level of education supply,to curb and standardize the supply of shadow education,while ignoring the facts from th e perspective of demand.Then,from the perspective of supply and demand mismatch,this paper discusses the governance dilemma of shadow education,and further explores the effective ways of governance for shadow education from the source of shadow education,from reforming the entrance examination,optimizing the quality of education within the school,and paying attention to the guidance of parents.Provide diversified after-school services and other aspects to provide some suggestions on how to meet the needs,explore the rationalization of shadow education,and provide new ideas for solving the problem of shadow education from the root.
