In February,2017,in the document,Reform Plan for Industrial Workers in New Age,President Xi Jinping proposed to form a work force with the ability of technology and innovation.On account of the vital importance of innovation,which is the driving force for development,Chinese government is appealing to cultivate creative talents through combing theory and practice.Electronic speciality is of high operability in secondary vocational school.With the professional knowledge and equipment about electronic products,the schools can provide a competitive platform for the students in innovation ability training.Up to now,however,most of the students at secondary vocational schools can’t produce creatively,which is neither able to reflect the students’ professional courses nor conducive to ability training.Regardless of this rough situation,the concept of STEAM education integrates multiple disciplines and focus on the capability of practice,self-study and innovation,emphasizing the experience in the process and the connection between theory and practice.In this case,it’s advantageous for students to make meaningful and creative products.Besides,Arduino graphical programming is designed for the beginners without programmable foundation.It overlaps every program in the form of building blocks,making students pay more attention to the products without learning complicated programming.As a result,students’ innovation ability can be developed.Adding STEAM education concept to the electronic speciality courses can actually reflect the innovativeness.Meanwhile,the teaching mode of graphic program is supposed to train students’ logical thinking,so that they can make the best of their learning time.Therefore,the paper is based on the analysis of STEAM education and electronic speciality in secondary vocational courses.To have better and more convincing explanation,initially,the process of students’ ability training are learned through literature analysis,questionnaires,and interviews.And then,innovative practice courses are designed to meet the standard of students from all aspects,such as the reanalysis of learners,the curriculum idea,principles of content designing,objects,process and remarks.Last but not least,the research not only applies the courses to teaching but also evaluate the effectiveness by questionnaires and interviews.It turns that learners have made great progress,after leaning relevant courses,in the ability to communicate,cooperate,solve problems,practice,self-study,and then,in the ability of innovation.The author puts forward the idea of integrating STEAM education into electronic specialty courses in vocational colleges,which expands the teaching and enriches thetheory and practice of STEAM education.It provides some reference for the teaching and learning of STEAM education in vocational colleges,and can be popularized in other majors.
