With the rapid development of social economy, efforts are made to cultivate high-quality talents in all walks of life.Innovative technical talents are becoming more and more scarce.Every enterprise and unit is in urgent need of high-quality talents. The country vigorously develops vocational education and invests more in vocational education. The State Council promulgated the National Vocational Education Reform Implementation Plan in January 2019,which requires improving the social status of vocational education to make it equal to that of general education, and actively reforming vocational education,so that the talents trained must meet the needs of society,to enhance the understanding of theoretical knowledge and cultivate innovative thinking in practice.Electronics majors are applied majors in secondary vocational schools, and require hands-on practice. It is easy to understand boring professional knowledge and cultivate their engineering thinking in "learning by doing".The advantage of STEAM education is to integrate and apply multi-disciplinary knowledge, subtly exercise students’ innovative thinking and engineering thinking in the process of application, and improve their independent learning ability.Fundamentals of Electronics is a basic course and a compulsory course for electronics majors. The theoretical knowledge is generally boring and abstract. The purpose of this research is to combine the STEAM education concept and the PBL teaching model and apply it to the teaching of the Fundamentals of Electronics course in secondary vocational schools, learn from the characteristics and advantages of the STEAM education concept and the PBL teaching model, and integrate the real problem situation into the teaching design,so that students can deal with practical problems calmly, have the ability to solve problems, and provide ideas and methods for subsequent teaching research. This paper uses literature analysis method, case analysis method and questionnaire survey method to study the electronic professional courses in secondary vocational schools.First, through literature analysis method,we check the relevant literature of STEAM education concept and PBL teaching model, and understand the domestic and foreign STEAM education.Development history and achievements, analyze the feasibility of combining STEAM education with PBL,understand the application of PBL in secondary vocational schools, and combine the development of secondary vocational electronics majors, the current teaching status of Fundamentals of Electronics course in secondary vocational schools, elicit the research significance and method of this paper.Use case analysis and questionnaires to understand the learning situation of students majoring in electronics, design teaching purposefully and consciously according to students’ learning situation, cultivate students’ innovative practice ability, and exercise students’ engineering thinking ability.Through the implementation of teaching, the students’ learning effect is observed. In the actual hands-on operation of the students, the teacher guides each group in different ways to ensure that each group can complete the practical training,so that the students can overcome the failure of the test and poor performance.inferiority complex and enhance self-confidence.Students conduct self-evaluation within the group and mutual evaluation in groups to motivate each other, and teachers evaluate each group.According to the actual effect of teaching, the teaching design is improved and summarized accordingly to provide a certain reference for the application of the PBL teaching mode of the STEAM education concept in the Fundamentals of Electronics in secondary vocational schools.
