Study On The Cultural Direction Of Modern University Governance In China

University governance involves the handing of relationships between various internal and external stakeholders as well as the various institutional arrangements in the process of university development.As China enters the stage of popularization of higher education,university governance plays an important role in promoting the construction of modern university systems and “double first-class”.For a long time,many people think that China's current university system is a full imitation of Western universities,and the corresponding university governance is also copying the West.However,the form of university governance is not only a series of operational institutional arrangements.Its formation process is also deeply influenced by the internal culture of the university and cultural environment of the external social,as well as the local traditional culture and foreign culture.As a country with a long history and profound cultural heritage,the modern university governance in China has not only learned from foreign countries but also influenced by China's existing culture.Therefore,this paper will analyze the modern university governance in China from the cultural level,and explorethe cultural factors affecting the modern university governance in China and the shortcomings in the current university governance process,aiming to provide reference suggestions in future development for university governance.This paper mainly includes four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.The main contents include the reason and significance of the topic selection,literature review,research content and concept definition,as well as specific research ideas and methods.The second chapter analyzes the Chinese and Western cultural backgrounds of China's modern university governance,and reveals the Chinese and Western cultural factors that influence the university governance in China from the aspects of cultural genetics and cultural environment.The third chapter analyzes the cultural misunderstandings in the modern university governance in China,mainly in three aspects,namely,the binary oppositional thinking mode,the national cultural inferiority complex,and the losing of the university culture essence.The fourth chapter is based on the deficiencies of modern university governance in China.It proposes the future development direction of the university governance construction from the cultural level,including reconstructing the local higher education philosophy,cultiva-ting the multi-integrated thinking mode,enhancing the cultural consciousness of the university people,strengthening the behavior reflection of university people and returning to the essence of university culture.
