Study On The Employment Stability Of The Urbanurban Floating Population

The purpose of this paper is to study the employment stability of the urban-urban floating population and its influencing factors.Compared with the migrant workers who flow into the city,the Urban-Urban floating population has less attention from the social and academic circles.This paper explains the employment stability of the urban-urban floating population from a microscopic point of view,and defines the Floating labor that meets any of the following conditions: an occupation period of three years or more,or stability ratio of occupation period of 0.75 or above as employment stability.This paper mainly uses the data of “the Dynamic Monitoring Data of Floating Population in 2017,Shanghai”,and uses cross-analysis to obtain the employment stability characteristics and internal differences of urban migrant groups.Under the guidance of human capital theory and social exclusion theory,this paper further conducts binary logistic regression analysis to clarify factors that affect employment stability.The study found that the employment stability of the urban-urban floating population in Shanghai is generally good,and the factors affecting its employment stability come from many aspects.First of all,among the demographic characteristics that affect the employment stability,the influence of age and education level on employment stability is reversed: the older the age(over 30 years old),the lower the education level,and the more likely the employment is stable.Secondly,the variables of employment characteristics have the greatest impact on employment stability: the employment stability with employer status is higher than that of employees;the employment stability of stateowned collectives and institutions is high;the employment stability of industrial and agricultural construction is higher than that of service industry;the influence of career choices is polarized;with the increase in wage income,the possibility of employment stability is increasing.Finally,in terms of housing status,housing provided by the employer/employee also significantly increases the possibility of employment stability.
