With the arrival of post-4% era,the formulation and adjustment of education funding policy has become an urgent issue to be considered. On the other hand, with the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics entering a new era,new requirements have been put forward for the investment and allocation of educational funds. However, the financial capacity of the government has always been limited, opening up the investment channels of education funds from the whole society has become a new direction of thinking.Family education expenditure is an extremely important part of it.Due to the lack of long-term follow-up survey data, the relevant research in mainland China is not mature enough. Therefore, the internal structure, changes and future development, and influencing factors of family education expenditure are the questions that still to be solved. As a part of our country, although the level of economic development and political and cultural forms of Taiwan are different from those of mainland China, they have similar educational development veins. On the other hand, there are long-term household income and expenditure survey tracking data in Taiwan. Therefore, the study of Taiwan's family education expenditure has certain reference significance to mainland China.Based on the research of family education expenditure, under the guidance of human capital theory and education cost-sharing theory, this study uses the data of family income and expenditure survey from 2007 to 2017 in the "Academic Survey and Research Database" of the Research Center of Humanities and Social Sciences in Taiwan. We select the data which "has children" and "has family" for research. In the analysis of the changing trend of family education expenditure in Taiwan,we firstly ues the SPSS software to describe and analyze the changes of the total family education expenditure, each part and its internal expenditure in Taiwan during the past 11 years. Then Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average(2,2,0)model is established by using time series analysis method to predict the future changing trend of family education expenditure in Taiwan. Finally,we analyze the role of economic, demographic and educational policy changes behind the changes in family education expenditure. In the analysis of the influencing factors of family education expenditure in Taiwan, six possible influencing factors, including family disposable income, the gender, age, occupation and education level of householder, the number of children are selected to carry out the analysis.Firstly, the descriptive statistical analysis of the related variables is carried out. Then the panel data and the annual data are analyzed by using Stata software. We want to show the different impact of each variable on family education expenditure and the change of coefficients in different years.Accordingly,we obtain some research findings from this study. In the analysis of the changing trend of family education expenditure in Taiwan, the study finds that the average family education expenditure in Taiwan has a decreasing trend in the past 11 years.Among them, the expenditure on "educational recreational equipment and its accessories" and "education and research" are also decreasing, while the expenditure on "books, newspapers, magazines and stationery" is increasing, and the expenditure on each part of them is also showing different changes. The Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average(2,2,0)model predicts that family education expenditure in Taiwan will increase in the future. In the analysis of influencing factors of family education expenditure in Taiwan, the fixed effect model shows that the six possible influencing factors selected in this study have a significant impact on family education expenditure in Taiwan, but some conclusions are inconsistent with previous research results. The regression results of annual data and panel data are basically consistent. The difference is that at 5% significant level, the number of children in 2009,2010,2012,2013 and 2014 has no significant impact on the average family educational expenditure.Through the typical empirical study of family education expenditure in Taiwan,we find that the changing trend and influencing factors of family education expenditure in a country or region are deeply influenced by its social and economic development, educational policy reform and family's own economic, social and cultural capital. It is hoped that this study will not only provide a useful reference for discussing the changes of family education investment in the new period of mainland China, but also provide a useful research paradigm for similar studies in the future, such as the impact of socioeconomic changes, educational changes and family's own economic, social and cultural capital on a region's family education expenditure. At the same time, due to the limitations of research capacity and data availability, there are still many shortcomings in this study. In the future,if we can explore the family education expenditure from more levels(such as children's education stratum, school type and so on)and further verify the relationship between family education expenditure and children's achievement, the whole research will be more systematic.
