Biology is a discipline based on biological concepts.One of the core tasks of junior high school biology teaching is to help students construct scientific concepts.The pre-scientific concepts in the minds of students have an impact on the learning of scientific concepts and may even hinder them.It is especially important to understand the pre-scientific concepts' level of students and to adopt effective teaching methods to transform the pre-scientific concepts into a scientific concepts."Green Plants in the Biosphere" is the third unit of the seventh grade biology of the Beijing Normal University.It mainly introduces the lifestyle and life history of green flowering plants and the role of green flowering plants in the biosphere.The nature and laws of life and the understanding of the life course of plants are of great significance.However,the content of the unit is more abstract,and the students have more pre-scientific concepts.It is difficult to understand and master the students by simply teaching the knowledge of traditional teaching.Therefore,it is especially important to adopt appropriate teaching methods to change the pre-scientific concept of students.The“7E”teaching model aims to promote students' conceptual transformation and improve students' inquiry ability through seven inquiry steps.It is proposed by education expert Einsenkraft based on the 5E teaching model in 2003,and more emphasis on the exposure of previous concepts and the migration of new knowledge.Therefore,constructing the “7E” teaching model suitable for junior high school biology teaching is used to transform the students' pre-scientific concepts,and helping students form a scientific cognitive structure has become the focus of this paper.Through the literature research method,this paper analyzes and organizes the results of previous studies,sorts out the research progress of pre-scientific concepts,concept transformations and “7E” teaching models,and defines and elaborates related concepts and related theories.Interviews with teachers from Chengdu High-tech Experimental Middle School through semi-structured interviews to understand the current situation of using the “7E” teaching model to transform students' pre-scientific concepts in junior high school biology teaching.Through the questionnaire method(a combination of diagnostic tests and certainty factors),the pre-scientific concept level of the junior school freshman for the "green plants in the biosphere" was explored.According to the pre-concept level of the students,according to the characteristics of the textbooks of the junior high school students of the Beijing Normal University and the actual situation of the students,the third unit of the seventh grade bio-book "Green Plants in the Biosphere" is selected as the teaching experiment content,and the “7E” teaching mode is used for teaching.To test whether it can transform a student's pre-scientific concept.Through the comparison of pre-and post-test data and student feedback,it shows that the application of “7E” teaching mode has achieved certain results.Finally,the researchers put forward relevant teaching suggestions,namely,select teaching content,enhance teachers' professional quality,and fully understand the pre-concept of students.Suggestions on the "interpretation" and "extension" links provide a reference for front-line teachers to use the “7E” teaching model to transform the pre-scientific concept of students.According to the results of the students' pre-concept level survey and taking into account the representativeness of the case,the researchers selected two representative contents of "Seed Structure" and "Tet of Transcription" as examples of teaching experiments.After the teaching experiment,the SPSS and EXCEL statistical software were used to analyze the post-test data.The results showed that the scores of the experimental class in biological learning interest,biological inquiry reasoning ability,concept grasping and academic achievement were significantly better than the control class,and compared with the control class.Significant differences(P < 0.05).The results show that the flexible use of the “7E” teaching mode can help students grasp the content of the class and the lectures of the teachers.It can significantly improve students' interest in learning and reasoning ability,improve students' performance,and effectively promote the transformation of students' concepts.Therefore,the paper proposes that the “ 7E ”teaching model is feasible and meaningful to help students understand knowledge and improve the quality of teachers' teaching,as well as transform students' pre-scientific concepts.
