Basketball,as a collective ball game,is popular among primary and secondary school students for its unique fitness function,educational value and sport interest.In order to promote the development of “campus basketball”,our country has issued a series of policy guidelines,and proposed to promote the work of “campus basketball” vigorously.In 2017,the Ministry of Education proposed to form a number of typical schools to lead the demonstration of “campus basketball” education and teaching work.Guiyang is one of the first pilot provinces and municipalities of campus basketball.This paper expects to investigate and analyze the current situation of basketball sports and the implementation of policies in Guiyang basketball characteristic schools,extracting the advantages of the development of “campus basketball” characteristic schools to provide experience reference for other basketball characteristic schools.In addition,the problems that may arise in the development of basketball characteristic schools are extracted,and warnings and prevention suggestions are proposed for other basketball characteristic schools.This paper aims to promote the healthy,coordinated and sustainable development of Guizhou basketball characteristic schools and “campus basketball” sports.Through the methods of literature review,expert interview,field survey,questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics,this study makes a systematic investigation and analysis of seven aspects of basketball characteristic schools in Guiyang,including the structure of teachers,court characteristics,teaching situation,extracurricular basketball,characteristic school basketball team,competition status and restrictive factors.The conclusions are as follows:1.The structure of teachers: most of the teachers are male,and the mainstay is experienced middle-aged teachers while young teachers is less;teachers in the characteristic schools are mainly undergraduate,while postgraduates and above are few.Most teachers have the titles of “first-class teachers in middle schools” or above.2.Court characteristics: the number of courts is insufficient in some schools;most basketball-featured high schools in Guiyang are qualified and open to the public,but a small number of schools do not meet the national standards,and they have not been open to students during their spare time.3.Teaching situation: the teaching mode is in the form of large class general courses;the content of classroom teaching is mainly based on basketball skills,tactical exercises and practical exercises;the history,culture and rules knowledge about basketball are less introduced;the combination of process and finality is widely used.4.Extracurricular basketball: most characteristic schools have established basketball clubs to hold regular basketball theme games;the activities are mainly half-court basketball matches;the organizational methods are most individual free combination and class unit activities.5.Characteristic school basketball team: coaches lead too many teams;the training mode of school basketball team is regular training;the selection methods of team members are various;most athletes enter ordinary colleges and sports colleges,and no players enter the professional clubs.6.Competition status: there are fewer competitions for characteristic schools in every semester,especially the lacking of competition system with the theme of “campus basketball” characteristic schools;most basketball characteristic schools have organized intra-school competitions per semester.7.Restrictive factors: some factors have great influence on the development of basketball in characteristic schools,such as attitude of leadership in characteristic schools,school curriculum planning,cultural atmosphere of campus basketball,the degree of parents' support,students' academic pressure and so on.In view of the current problems existing in basketball characteristic schools in Guiyang,this research recommends that characteristic schools should pay attention to the fresh blood of faculty,which means to supplement young teachers properly and increase the introduction of masters;open the courts to the public reasonably,maximize the use of the courts,and strive to create a basketball atmosphere that characteristic schools should have;Attention should be paid to the development of school-based courses in characteristic schools,and efforts should be made to achieve “one school with one product” or “one school with many products”,and to establish the habit of teaching according to the syllabus of teaching materials;at the school level,relevant policies should be issued to encourage students to participate in basketball activities in order to better deal with the contradiction between academic pressure and participation in basketball;in addition,coaches should pay attention to the cultural achievements of athletes who have poor learning,and encourage them to work harder in learning;the competent authorities should follow up with the improvement of competition system as soon as possible,and organize basketball matches regularly.It is suggested that the school basketball competition should be strengthened so that different grades and different classes can participate.
