Study On The Quality And Formation Mechanism Of "Politicians-Educators" Type University Presidents

The full exertion of the function of university president plays a key role in the reform and development of a university.“Politicians-Educators” is an important thought to urge the university president to devote himself to the ideological and political construction and the development of education reform.It is also a powerful means to build a powerful country in higher education.In order to enrich the theoretical research contents of “Politicians-Educators” university presidents and promote the development and perfection of higher education management and the relative system of university presidents in China,the quality and formation mechanism of the “Politicians-Educators” university president are studied in this paper.This paper makes a careful study on the quality and formation mechanism of the presidents of “Politicians-Educators” by using the method of literature and case study.From the political point of view,the president of the university should become a “Politicians”,which is determined according to the nature of the socialist institutions of higher learning with Chinese characteristics and the requirements of the task.From the educational level,in order to follow the law of higher education and deepen the comprehensive reform of higher education,the President of the university should be an “Educators”.From the current development stage of our country,it is necessary for the President of the university to be both a “Politicians and an Educators” to take root in China's Land university,realize the modernization of higher education and build a powerful country of higher education.It puts forward a high demand for the political quality,educational quality,ability quality,moral quality and humanistic quality of the university president.Through the investigation of the quality of the current principals of 42 “first-class university construction colleges and Universities”,it is found that the current university presidents have a short term of office,lack of long-term planning for colleges and universities,less experience in multiple schools,lack of management experience in colleges and universities,and a single selection model,which limits the diversified development of colleges and universities;inbreeding phenomenon is obvious,which hinders the innovation of the development of colleges and universities;the single background of the subject limit the vision and boldness of university presidents;the research on the management theory of colleges and universities is less,and the lack of advanced educational ideas.As discussed above,we can see that there is still a certain gap between the quality of university principals and the type of “Politicians-Educators” in our country.If we want to realize the running of “Politicians-Educators” university president,we must deepen the reform of “Fang Guan Fu” and create a relaxed external environment for university presidents to run schools independently according to law.Besides we must reform and improve the selection mechanism of university presidents,broaden the vision and channels for the selection of university principals,strengthen ideological and political construction,improve the quality of politicians of university presidents,build a professional training system for university presidents,improve the quality of educators of university presidents,and perfect and improve the supervision and restraint mechanism to promote the healthy growth of university presidents.Only by combining many measures can we make our university president become the president of the “Politicians-Educators” type University.
