Today,mental health is becoming more and more important to the whole society.The mental health problems of junior high school students have also become a concern of the society.Class is an important psychological environment in junior high school students' school life.Class mental atmosphere is an important factor affecting the mental health of junior high school students.The class mental atmosphere is a dynamic and balanced group psychological state and psychological tendency formed by the interaction of teachers,students and education and teaching environment.The positive or negative of the class mental atmosphere will affect the academic development and mental health of junior high school students.Therefore,the research on class mental atmosphere in junior high school not only can reflect the development level of the psychological atmosphere of junior high school class in China at the present stage,reveal the influencing factors that need attention in the process of constructing the Class mental atmosphere,but also can provide a constructive plan for mental health education work and promote the psychological and academic development of junior high school students in a stable and positive direction.Based on the previous research reports and existing measurement tools,this paper evaluates the class mental atmosphere of 730 junior high school students from three different regions and different ethnic groups by self-editing the “Preliminary Middle School Class mental atmosphere Questionnaire”.The statistical analysis has revealed the basic situation of the current junior high school class mental atmosphere to a certain extent,and put forward educational suggestions on how to create a positive and harmonious class mental atmosphere,that is to provide a good learning environment,carry out a variety of class activities;strengthen the training of the class teacher's own quality,rationally play the role of the class committee;establish the correct class concept,etc.The main findings of the study are as follows:(1)Junior high school class mental atmosphere questionnaire is divided into three dimensions: teacher-student relationship,class cohesion and learning atmosphere.The structure is clear and the model fits well.(2)The statistical results show that the self-edited Junior high school class mental atmosphere questionnaire has high reliability and validity,and can be used as an effective tool to measure junior high school class mental atmosphere.(3)The overall level of junior high school class mental atmosphere is at the upper-middle level,and the three dimensions of the class mentalatmosphere are unbalanced,the learning atmosphere level is the lowest,and the teacher-student relationship level is the highest.(4)Junior high school class mental atmosphere generally shows significant differences in school,grade differences,and differences between only children and non-only children.The third grade score was significantly lower than the first and second grade scores.The score of the only child is significantly higher than that of the non-only child.Although there are significant school differences in junior high school class mental atmosphere,its laws and reasons need further study.(5)There is no gender difference in the total score of junior high school class mental atmosphere,but there are significant differences in the specific dimensions.The scores of female students are significantly higher than the male students' scores in the class cohesion dimension.(6)There is no significant difference in junior high school class mental atmosphere between the ethnic and long-term residence variables.
