It is the age of knowledge economy in the 21 th century,the rapid development of the society demands more and more comprehensive qualities for learners and talented person in the future.And also in this Web2.0 era,the development of information technology makes learners' learning methods change with each passing day,with a wealth of learning resources and learning methods that can be conducted anytime and anywhere,learners can gradually approach the ideal target of talented person in the future.In this environment,more and more universities begin to use the online teaching platform to assist offline classroom teaching or even use the online teaching platform for online education directly,so that they can expand new teaching activities to improve teaching efficiency and quality,and also can cultivate innovative talents that meet the requirements of the new era.As a supporting platform for online teaching activities,the online teaching platform plays an increasingly important role in the e-learning field.We Tianjin University uses Sakai open source framework to build our online teaching platform,but in the process of actual use,problems such as low usage of tools and divided teaching activities have been found,in that way,the online teaching platform unable to fully realize the ideal goal of helping learners to make progress.To solve this problem effectively,educational theories and technology tools should be integrated together from the perspective of educational technology,guided by educational theories,and with the support of the platform,the tools used in the online teaching process can be reasonably arranged,what's more,educational activities based on the online teaching platform can be redesigned,according to the needs of teaching,optimize the existing tools of the platform,so that we can improve teaching effectiveness and experience for teachers and students and realize the value that the platform should have.This research first summarizes the research status of teaching activities using Sakai platform at home and abroad,and finds some worth learning while some need to be improved.Then it studies the learning theory and teaching mode in the modern Internet environment,and also composition of online teaching platform and Sakai tool module,puts forward their instructional significance to network teaching respectively.From the perspective of educational technology,a network teaching model with strong applicability based on the Sakai platform has constructed to solve the problem that teachers and students did not use the platform properly.Based on this network teaching model,the platform tools will be improved and developed.With the support of new models and tools,a demonstrations of online teaching activities has been designed in order to provide guidance for teachers and students' activities on the platform,increase teachers' and students' understanding and recognition to this platform,and also improve the usage rate and use results of the platform,hoping to provide a feasible method and reference for follow-up education and teaching practitioners.In the end,the study is concluded and looked forward.
