With the advent of the information age,reading has become an important way for human beings to participate in social life.At present,the research on reading literacy has attracted wide attention in the world.With the increasing digitization of the society and the increasing mathematization of information,the importance of mathematics reading ability has gradually become apparent.That cause the attention of many scholars.Through the literature on mathematics reading,mostly are calling attention to mathematics reading,the teaching strategy research of mathematics reading,etc.And there is a lack of unified recognized,scientific and reasonable assessment tools of mathematics reading ability.To explore the present situation of the students’ mathematics reading ability,more targeted to develop the students’ ability of mathematics reading,the study on a evaluation index system of mathematics reading ability presents important practical significance.In this study,with the help of literature analysis and expert investigation,on the theory of education evaluation,and using the factor decomposition method,investigation & statistical method and analytic hierarchy process(AHP),this study plans to build a scientific and reasonable evaluation index system of mathematics reading ability.First of all,on the basis of literature analysis,select the first-level indicators and second-level indicators of the junior middle school students’ mathematics reading ability evaluation index system by using the factor decomposition method.And form the questionnaire on the recognition degree of mathematics reading ability evaluation index system of junior high school students.Then select experts who involved in mathematics reading subject experiments or teaching experienced math teachers to participate in the survey,and improve the junior middle school students’ mathematics reading ability index system according to the statistical results and experts’ advice.Finally,based on the revision of the junior high school students’ mathematics reading ability evaluation index system,form table of relative importance of mathematics reading ability evaluation indicators for junior high school students.And using the analytic hierarchy process(AHP),select some math teachers from a junior middle school math teacher training to determine the weight of each level indicators.Eventually form the mathematics reading ability evaluation index system of junior high school students.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The indicators of the junior middle school students’ mathematics reading ability evaluation index system contain character recognition,language translation,and general comprehension of 3 first-level indicators and 10 second-level indicators.The second-level indicators of character recognition include identifying mathematical terms,identifying mathematical symbols and identifying mathematical charts.The second-level indicators of language translation include translation between word language and symbol language,translation between word language and graph language and translation between symbol language and graph language.The second-level indicators of general comprehension include filtering the information,associating existing knowledge and experience,generalizing conclusions and applying new knowledge.(2)The weights of the indicators of the junior middle school students’ mathematics reading ability evaluation index system are as follows: the weight coefficients of the firstlevel indicators character recognition,language translation and general comprehension were 0.17,0.21 and 0.62.And the weight coefficients of the second-level indicators identifying mathematical terms,identifying mathematical symbols and identifying mathematical charts were 0.31,0.31,and 0.38.The weight coefficient of the second-level indicators translation between word language and symbol language,translation between word language and graph language and translation between symbol language and graph language were 0.25,0.27 and 0.48.The weight coefficient of the second-level indicators filtering the information,associating existing knowledge and experience,generalizing conclusions and applying new knowledge were 0.13,0.14,0.26 and 0.47.(3)Through the test of mathematics reading ability for junior middle school students,it is preliminarily verified that the evaluation index system of mathematics reading ability for junior middle school students is reasonable.But the fitting effect between model and data is not so good.This study attempts to build an evaluation index system of the mathematics reading ability for junior middle school students,but due to the limitations of conditions,further improvement is needed in the future.
