| It is difficult to teach and learn writing in four language skills,including listening,speaking,reading and writing,of teaching Chinese as a foreign language(TCSL),but it plays an important role in promoting the development of other language skills and satisfying written communication.At present,researches in relation to writing in TCSL have their own weaknesses,such as limited quantity,narrow perspective,single research object and so on.Practical writing is a writing style be of practicability.Learning this would help students with their career,education and communication practically.Meanwhile,the simple practical writing is straightforward and brief,which is in accordance to the learning ability and writing level of primary students.Therefore,this paper takes the simple practical writing as the teaching content of the reading and writing course of Chinese major in Thai senior high school.Chinese teaching in Thailand is developing rapidly,and we hope to provide reference and help to carry out this kind of teaching in Thailand through such teaching practice.This paper has five parts,and the main contents are as follows:The first part is the introduction.It involves the reason and significance of selecting this topic,research methods and theoretical basis,and literature review also in this part.The second part describes the process of finding Thailand Chinese learners’ needs of practical writing ability development by analyzing data from interview and questionnaire,then the feasibility to implement practical writing teaching can be proposed.The third part demonstrates five teaching cases relate to leaving request,notice,letter,lost and found and posters for community recruitment respectively.Feedbacks for each case from teachers by observing the whole class and evaluations from peer by watching the teaching video facilitate the summary of the strengthens and drawbacks of each case.The fourth part reviews the teaching practice by interpreting the reflections from students and peers and the data from the questionnaires.It could be found that the students’ ability of writing has been improved and the teaching effect has been verified from the analysis of 48 practical writing tasks created by 6 students.The fifth part is the conclusion of the study.This paper identifies 11 recommendations for practical writing teaching towards primary Chinese learners in Thailand,which is based on the practice,investigation and analysis,and strategies to overcome 5 shortcomings of research and teaching are presented,which is the greatest value of this study.The suggestions and reflections aim to offer new visions and perspectives to Chinese reading and writing teaching in Thailand. |
