Textbooks convey the current mainstream values in an explicit or implicit way,in which the issue of gender awareness has been widely concerned by researchers and plays an important role in the physical and mental development of teenagers.In this research,the proportion of male images,the distribution of The Times and countries,occupation and family roles in junior high school National Chinese textbooks are analyzed.This study not only explores the personality characteristics and value orientation of male images in National Chinese Textbooks,but also analyzes the way they are presented in textbooks.Based on the above analysis,this study aims to provide strategies and suggestions for the revision and use of the textbooks,as well as tries to arouse the attention of educational researchers and practitioners to the male images in the textbooks.This study is mainly consists of following seven parts:Part ? is the introduction.This part briefly describes the reason for the topic selection,related research literatures,core concept definition,theoretical basis,research significance and so on.Combined with the development of The Times,this study sorts out the research results on male images from the perspectives of film and television literature,sociology and pedagogy,and take the Gender theory and social learning theory as theoretical basis.Part ? Is the statistics of male characters in National Chinese language Textbooks for junior high school students.This part takes the male characters in textbooks as the object,and makes statistical explanation from quantity,age,country and era,in order to make clear the distribution of male characters,then analyze their personality characteristics and value orientation.Part ? is the analysis of male social roles in junior high school National Chinese textbooks.Under the guide of Gender theory,this part analyzes the professional role andfamily role image of male characters.Part ? is the analysis of the value orientation of male characters in junior high school National Chinese language Textbooks.This part analyzes the value orientation of the male protagonists in the textbook from four dimensions: the individual level,the individual and others,the individual and society,and the individual and nature.Based on this,this study attempt to explore the values expected to be conveyed by textbooks.Part ? is the analysis on the presentation of male characters in textbooks.This study will from three aspects,text presentation,illustration presentation and activity presentation,to discuss this point.Part ? is research conclusions and recommendations.This part summarizes the value orientation and existing problems of male image shaping in the textbook.It mainly summarizes from next four aspects: the country distribution of the characters,the scope of professional roles,the proportion of family roles and the number of typical characters.According to the principles of content selection,adolescent developmental psychology and the requirements of the new era for male roles,this study puts forward suggestions from textbook compilation and use.The last part is the summary of this study.
