In the social construction of China,the most basic aspect is to carry out targeted policy support and economic assistance for the vulnerable groups.As an important member of the vulnerable groups,moderate intellectual disabled children have naturally received a lot of attention.After reading a lot of literature and visiting many special families,the author found that the shortage of self-care ability is one of the most concerned problems.Self-care ability is a necessary skill for an individual to grow up and eventually integrate into the society,especially for the moderate intellectual disabled children.They can eventually stand on their own feet or semi-stand on their own feet in society,which is not only the ardent expectation of moderate intellectual disabled children and their parents,but also the ultimate goal of education and rehabilitation for mental retardation.Among them,cultivating and improving self-care ability is one of the most basic abilities.However,the current situation of this group’s self-care ability is not satisfactory,even facing many difficulties.This study firstly sorted out the concepts and theoretical basis related to the research,reviewed and sorted out the relevant literatures on intellectual disabled children and their self-care ability at home and abroad,summarized the experience of previous studies for reference.A research object was selected from T institution in C city.After contacting with intellectual disabled children and their parents,the needs of them were sorted out by means of observation and interview,so as to evaluate the self-care ability and needs of the research object.Based on this design meet the needs of the social work service plan,using professional social work method,help promote self-care ability of intellectual disabled children and help their parents relieve psychological pressure,increase self-confidence,find the advantages of themselves,and to establish the parent support network,provide communication platform for their parents,access to social support,in order to better promote self-care ability of intellectual disabled children.After the one-year intervention of social workers,the self-care ability of the research object was improved to some extent,and the parents’ concept of the research object was changed,the knowledge of improving the self-care ability of the child was acquired,and the social support was obtained,which improved the self-care ability of the research object from the side. |
