In recent years,with the number of children with autism increasing year by year,children with autism have received widespread attention of the society.Children with autism have obvious obstacles of Social Competence,and encounter many obstacles and dilemmas in their life and growth.Social work,as a sciences and profession focusing on vulnerable groups,and children with autism also become the focus of social workers.The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of Peer-Mediated intervention in improving Social competence of children with autism.Through the development and reflection of Peer-Mediated intervention,and to solve the difficulties encountered by social workers in serving children with autism through the development and reflection of peer-mediated intervention Action Research,and to improve the service quality of social work in the field of children with autism.In this Action Research,9 children with autism and 5 college volunteer peers from A Social work institutions of Changchun City were selected as the main participants in this study,relying on the Children with Autism Service Project of A Social work institutions of Changchun City.In the process of social work practice,through discovering the problems of children with autism,reviewing the literature,designing Peer-Mediated intervention strategies,implementation and reflection of the continuous cycle.Finally,a peer intervention program is developed to improve the Social competence of children with autism.Finally,the conclusion of this study is that the Social competence of children with autism is significantly improved after peer intervention,in terms of quantity,in the process of interaction between children with autism and their peers,the positive social initiation behavior and positive social response behavior of children with autism have significantly increased.In qualitative terms,after peer intervention,children with autism can get positive evaluation from their peers and establish a good interpersonal relationship with their peers after peer intervention.
