A Case Work Intervention On The Predicament Of Parents Of Children With Autism From The Perspective Of Social Support

In 2006,as a kind of mental disorders,autism was formally included in the second survey of the disabled in China.According to the results,in our country,there are about 110,000 children with mental disabilities(including multiple disabilities)under the age of six,accounting for one thousandth of the total number of children in this age.The number of children with disabilities resulting from autism is about 40,000,accounting for nearly 40 per cent of the total number of children with mental disabilities.Autism is more common in male,and the prevalence and prevalence of autism are independent of ethnicity,culture and socioeconomic level.But with the rapid development of modern society,and the change of external natural environment,the prevalence of autism is getting higher and higher.According to the data of the White Paper on Autistic Parents in China,62% of parents believe that the quality and quantity of teachers for autism education are seriously inadequate.61.2 % of parents believe that the lack of social understanding and help for autism,55.8% of parents believe that the rehabilitation costs of autistic children is too high to bear,55.5% parents lack of confidence in the future employment of their children and 47.4% parents assume that there is a mismatch between the needs of autism family and qualified social professional service.All of these data reflect the contradiction between the needs of the autistic family and the social support system,and the loneliness of the family environment and the life of the parents are not optimistic.For them,there is an urgent need of improving the living environment and social environment,building a social support system with long-term effectiveness that can satisfy their demands.At the same time,the government and society should also give enough attention to autistic children and their parents.Based on the professional perspective of social work,this paper uses case work to help parents of children with autism in B city,A province,and analyzes their social support and the existing core concerns and their needs for social support.Social work intervention is conducted to release their core concern about spiritual and economic need in order to help them build their own social support system and improve their subjective aspirations.for social support.
