Optimizing the market structure and promoting sports consumption are important aspects of sports industry whose current development is vigorous in China.Large numbers of foreign undergraduate students from different countries come to Beijing every year.Thus,researches on sports consumption of foreign students could promote their sports consumption,contribute to the overall development of sports consumption and provide advice for our country to better integrate into the international sports consumption environment.Our investigation was conducted foreign undergraduate students from several universities located in Haidian District.Research methods include questionnaires,interviews,mathematical statistics and others.In this thesis,we summarized the characteristics and the prevailing problems of sports consumption of foreign undergraduate students,explored the differences foreign students in sports consumption in Beijing.We have also provided opinions and suggestions on how to promote more reasonable and efficient sports consumption of foreign students in Beijing and how to advocate traditional Chinese sports programs to them.Our conclusions are as below:1.Foreign students in Haidian District,Beijing have more leisure time.They participate in physical exercise more casually with no fixed time slots.The overall attitude towards sports consumption is positive and clear,and there is a certain demand for watching games.2.For foreign students in Haidian District,Beijing,their main inner motivations of sports consumption are ‘physical fitness' and ‘leisure and entertainment',thus they have high demand for social and sports information.3.They have inadequate understanding about traditional Chinese sports,but certain desire to participate and consume.4.Foreign students in Haidian District of Beijing tend to participate in sports projects which is easy to play and shows a gender difference.Students from different countries have their own unique sports consumption projects.In addition to material sports consumption,they also tend to have participating sports consumption.Single is the main participation in sports consumption.Average monthly sports consumption is 101-300 yuan,which is affected by disposable income and different countries.“Nike”,“Adidas” and “Puma” are the main sports brands that foreign undergraduate students would purchase.They don't know enough about sports brands in China,and their impression needs to be improved.5.Foreign students in Haidian District,Beijing mainly gain the sports consumption related information through Internet and their domestic peers.The sports consumption of foreign undergraduate students in Haidian District is mainly restricted by their physical status and personal interest and is also affected by external factors including less sports projects and the quantity of the venue facilities,influenced by the relationship of teacher and classmates.They are generally sat with the overall sports consumption situation in China.Eager to purchase the sports product with good quality and cheap prize.5.Suggestions(1)Increase physical education courses to promote the participation of international students in physical exercise.(2)Pay attention to the physical exercise facilities for international students.(3)Provide various choices of sports projects.(4)Guarantee the demand of sports events for oversea students.(5)Enrich sports information for network communication.
