Research On The Performance Evaluation Of Higher Education Based On DEA Model

With the increasing attention paid to higher education,the proportion of higher education expenditure in China's public finance has increased year by year.Whether the government's educational input has really played a role,whether it has achieved the expected effect,the level of education has been improved,which all need to assess the performance of higher education.Therefore,the issue of performance evaluation of higher education is not only of great theoretical significance,but also has practical guiding significance for adjusting educational policies.This paper first summarizes the classic research results of some scholars at home and abroad,and introduces the theoretical knowledge and concepts related to performance and performance management,performance evaluation,higher education,performance evaluation methods and DEA model(Data Envelopment Analysis).According to the principles of index system construction and existing literature research,7 indexes of input and output are screened out.In this paper,31 provinces in China are used as decision making units,and the DEA model is used for empirical analysis.The data in this paper are collected from the statistical yearbook of China,and the education data in 2016 are selected.This paper analyzes the efficiency of the higher education system in these provinces.The analysis shows that only 15 provinces have achieved DEA effectiveness,while most provinces are not DEA effective.Although the overall efficiency of the provinces and autonomous regions in the mainland of China is higher,there are still significant differences in the input and output of higher education between the East and the west,the developed economy and the less developed areas in the higher education.Therefore,it is necessary to adjust these input or output variables in order to achieve the technology of higher education.It is effective.Finally,this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve the performance of higher education in China.It is necessary to draw on the advanced experience of performance evaluation abroad,to carry out international experience exchange,academic symposium and so on.To increase the investment in higher education resources,to balance the distribution of educational resources among regions,to introduce relevant laws and regulations,to establish a third party performance evaluation and supervision institution,to establish high performance demonstration schools,and to promote the sharing of resources among colleges and universities.
